razazteca Posted May 12, 2004 Report Posted May 12, 2004 My teams are in position to take the lead and I shall become the Triple Crown Champion of TSM! #2 in NL and Mixed leagues and top 5 in AL. Livin the Dream~ Damn Hampton for screwing up everything.
Lightning Flik Posted May 12, 2004 Author Report Posted May 12, 2004 Guapos, you'd need a good shot in wins for two weeks to pull off a first place lead. Even then, I'm not sure about it. And frankly, is anyone surprised that with the amount of moves that I've made, I'm actually in contendership for first place? I mean, honestly, anyone think my team would be this good? I certainly didn't think I'd live up to the high expectations I placed on my team.

Bored Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Hey pretty good for the #1 pick, huh? I'll chalk it up to bad luck since I'm 3-3 in the actual match-ups. Losing Troy Glaus and Marcus Giles this week isn't helping things. Oh well guess I'll push for the title in Dr. Tom's league and have Randy Johnson there.
razazteca Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 Damn I forgot to start Wakefield and missed out on a Win. I sent out a trade offer to Chicago White Sux in the AL league. Send Crawford my way.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 19, 2004 Report Posted May 19, 2004 God my team is pathetic. When the only good news offensively is Craig and Jack Wilson, got problems.. Ugh.
razazteca Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 The injuries are making me angry, hell in one league I have 5 or 6 sitting on the bench doing nothing or pitch hitting. Damn Cubs, Braves, NOMAR!
the pinjockey Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 I just want to vent my frustration with the NL league. I hold onto Chase Utley for a month, I finally cave in and drop him to get an OF in Preston Wilson's spot, and the day I do that Placido Polanco goes down and Utley kicks all sorts of ass in his spot. FUCK, I knew al would be the one to get me on that one.
HarleyQuinn Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 Ya know...I sorely miss Trot, Garret Anderson and Prior right now heh. Prior probably more so as my offense has been remaining solid each week but my pitching has been up and down throughout the season. Bit the bullet and picked up reliever John Reidling of the Reds, 1 ER in 22 IP and a 0.41 ERA can't hurt, he'll likely take Rodrigo Lopez's place in the pen on my team as Lopez is now moving into the Orioles rotation in place of Ainsworth.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 22, 2004 Report Posted May 22, 2004 I just want to vent my frustration with the NL league. FUCK, I knew al would be the one to get me on that one. I got him before the injury, just because I knew he HAD to get a chance eventually.
Bored Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 My team continues to suck in the head-to-head league but have to point out Bobby Abreu's rankings at the moment. Season: 1 Last Month: 1 Last Week: 1
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 23, 2004 Report Posted May 23, 2004 The weird thing is I don't own Abreu in a single league.
Guest OctoberBlood Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Yeah. I dropped the Moose. Screw his suckness.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Picking up Zach Greinke was a real coup in the AL only league. This kid is special.
HarleyQuinn Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 and I continue to flounder like a dead fish in the H2H league and the Mixed League, ugh. At least I'm staying afloat in the AL and NL leagues.
Bored Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 Picking up Zach Greinke was a real coup in the AL only league. This kid is special. But I picked up the Greek God of Walks. Bow down! Not that BillBavasiOverdrive has any chance in the league after the shocking first month of being in first place.
treble Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I'm getting pretty lucky in the NL league. Sexson gets hurt, so I pick up Cordero for a bit before he gets hurt. After that, I pick up Daryle Ward right before Sexson gets off the DL. Ward was on a bit of a hot streak, and I didn't want to give him up for nothing, so I made a trade offer before I got around to taking Sexson off the DL. Thankfully, the person who I made the offer to never saw it, since Sexson got hurt again while still on my DL and Ward's still playing well. Tom Glavine and Chris Carpenter are helping out, too, and I don't think anyone thought Clemens would pitch this well. Picking up Zach Greinke was a real coup in the AL only league. This kid is special. Yeah, I tried to pick him up, too, but I wasted my waiver priority on Justin Miller a few weeks ago.
razazteca Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 My team of half of the Rangers will eventually catch up in the AL league. I can't believe everybody forgot about Herges in the mixed league..........he had 11 saves at the time and was a free agent!
HarleyQuinn Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I'm officially "managing" my teams as I'm hoping it'll give me a bit of an advantage. Managing as in, starting/subbing based on matchups, etc.
the pinjockey Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 I am officially treading in the NL league. As in tread water and hope to high hell that AJ Burnett and Nick Johnson come off the DL this week and give me a boost. And in the mixed league (non H2H) my strategy is to get every single pitcher in the league on my roster at some point.
Lightning Flik Posted May 27, 2004 Author Report Posted May 27, 2004 I basically have died in all but the H2H league. That's not surprising considering I'm not really that skilled in my MLB knowledge and henceforth am bound to get smacked about.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 I think I've still got a shot in the H2H league. In the Mixed league, despite having a good lineup on paper, nothing really happening for me.
razazteca Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 Sean Casey is the greatest back up ever! When Thome and Helton got hurt its not a big deal since I have Sean Casey to move play at 1st Base then I can either play one of my backup SS or OF.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted May 28, 2004 Report Posted May 28, 2004 But I picked up the Greek God of Walks. Bow down! I passed because I wasn't sure he'd get playing time. I have Eric Chavez anyway, so Youklis wouldn't have helped much. Justin Morneau was a great pickup however. And the Cleveland Indians decided to make Jose Jimenez their closer, so I grabbed him as well.
Lightning Flik Posted May 29, 2004 Author Report Posted May 29, 2004 And in the mixed league (non H2H) my strategy is to get every single pitcher in the league on my roster at some point. You are not getting my pitching staff, you bastard. No matter of persons will give you my staff.
Lightning Flik Posted May 29, 2004 Author Report Posted May 29, 2004 I'll just ask once here to be safe: Trade to send A. Kearns and J. Lieber from Fear The CHEATLIST~! to Small Red Machine in return for C. Delgado, with C. Silva being dropped. Approved thoroughly, correct? I'm just checking bases here.
the pinjockey Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Awwww that's horseshit. Eh, seems fine. It is funny seeing Carlos Silva get dropped after the blowjobs he was getting for the first month of the season.
Lightning Flik Posted May 29, 2004 Author Report Posted May 29, 2004 (edited) Silva goes up to a team, then goes back down. It's kinda funny and sad. Edit: And I'm so happy I picked up Uribe. He's been just awesome. Edited May 29, 2004 by Lightning Flik
treble Posted May 29, 2004 Report Posted May 29, 2004 Ahh, in the NL league I had Glavine, Carpenter, and Clemens all starting tonight and even though none of them gave up more than 2 runs, none of them picked up wins (in Carpenter's case, thanks to the Cards bullpen).
