Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 The promos for the March 1st Raw at the Gwinnett Center are airing in the greater Atlanta market. At the end of the promo the narrator poses the question, "Is this the night The Rock returns to Raw?" Should prove to be an interesting show. Credit: PWInsider And remember, the reports about two weeks ago were that they were building local advertising for the March 2nd Smackdown in Savannah, GA completely around Eddie Guerrero, and he ended up winning the WWE Title. WWE tends to leak out storyline info so that they can go on and get local advertising done, so there's about a 99% chance that this is when Rock will return. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Last Monday was the PERFECT time to bring him back... Give me Rock/Flair NOW. Batistia can play Sid to Flair's Shawn.
Guest Loss Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Wow, they've waited a long time to bring him back into the fold, haven't they? You'd think bringing Rock back for his first match in nearly a year would get more hype, but maybe they feel they can pull it off in two RAWs, which is the amount of promotion his return will have. Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 18, 2004 It kinda worked for WMX8...Rock was only there for 3 weeks leaving Hogan to sell the match.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 I seem to remember a Rock vs. Flair match on RAW in August 2002 (Jericho made his RAW debut after the match, attacking Flair) during Rock's most recent run with the title. I also remember it not being very good.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted February 18, 2004 First off...Flair was in his unmotivated funk and I just want to see 4 great dueling promos between the promo gods.
Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Yeah, there really wasn't that much build up. It was like...WELCOME TO RAW! And, by the way, Rock vs. Flair tonight.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 It would be more like Foley gets the weekly beatdown then FINALLY THE ROCK HAS COME BACK TO SAVE MANKIND!
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Report post Posted February 18, 2004 First off...Flair was in his unmotivated funk and I just want to see 4 great dueling promos between the promo gods. You're fucked up. Flair isn't good for anything anymore, even interviews. Rock/Flair doesn't have an appeal anymore. I think Flair/Retirement is what I'd be most excited about. He's already pissed away half of his credibility by hanging on when his time has obviously come. He's blowing spots left and right.
iamsherm 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 I'm going to RAW this Monday in Omaha, so I'm hoping this is just a case of bait and switch advertising. Still, from a business standpoint, I think the WWE could afford to bring back The Rock on the final RAW before Wrestlemania. For the few people left that aren't seeing the show, I'm betting he would probably get their buy based on name alone.
Michrome 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Flair hasn't had a good singles match in ages, things are really just getting sad now. Whenever he has something around ** (vs. Michaels MSG, or vs. Hunter), people start going nuts claiming that Flair can still go. Just fucking retire already.
