Remember... the only guaranteed part of most (if not all) NFL contracts are the signing bonuses. 10 years essentially means nada in the NFL.

Doesn't matter really. The NFL can cut you as they please and get out of paying a contract...as long as they don't give him a huge signing bonus there's no real loss.
