Guest Jimbo Report post Posted February 22, 2004 3 way's suck with 3 healthy people, and now we've got a gimp added to the mix. In retort I offer you the main events of Vengeance 2002 (Rock, Taker, and Angle) and 2003 (Angle, Brock, and Big Show). I know SOME 3 ways have been good and I agree with almost everythign that has been listed, but overall, 3 ways due to to suck because it's always a rotation of 1 on 1 work with the other guy laying down for 5 minutes and a bunch of contrived spots that serve no prupose besides looking sorta cool. Sometimes they can be VERY good as in the case of the "Era of Honor Begins" matchup, but a majority of the time they are crap. They are truly hit or miss and I don't think you should have the main event of the biggest show of the year be hit or miss and be further endangered by a guy with a bum knee. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted February 22, 2004 Listen Shawn. It's God telling you to fuck off and not screw Chris Benoit out of his moment. You remember God don't you? All your stupid ass T-Shirts say you do. Amen.
Guest JRE Report post Posted February 22, 2004 If the 3 way is booked good enough...it could actually be a really historic thing for a Wrestlemania. Of course, this, again requires Benoit winning. Do the right thing!

RavishingRickRudo 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2004 Here's a snippit of CRUN-CH # 53 - 9 February 2004. It goes into about 3 ways... Low Ki vs. Chris Daniels vs. American Dragon This may very well be the best single-fall 3-way match that's ever taken place -- if anyone out there was going to set up some innovative tandem spots and find creative ways to get everyone involved, it was definitely these three. But, when dealing with something that's flawed by design, praise such as that only goes so far. The most obvious issue this has is that it's a 3-way; there's always that extra person to be accounted for. Not every spot can be a double-team, because, sooner or later, it isn't going to be believable that A) one person could take so much punishment or B) the alliances would keep shifting equally. It means that, during the body of the match, one man has to be essentially out of the way while the others work a segment. But, if someone is incapacitated, why isn't one of the other two trying to wear him down further? The easy answer to that is that the two active participants would balance each other out and have to beat on each other before they can take advantage of the situation. The 'winner' of that exchange gets to take out the weak man...but he's had time to recover, and now there's a new weak man. It's wrestling's version of the Möbius Strip, and while those are great for conveyor belts, they don't help make sense out of a wrestling match. It might be a bit more plausible if they had varying degrees of success against their two opponents and wanted to use that to their advantage, but that's far from the case here. http://www.airraidcrash.com/review/crunch53.html
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 23, 2004 I reitterate my post from the Observer news thread. ::sing song voice:: Guess-who-got-out-of-jobbing-at-Backlash! It's Brilliant, really. Shawn pins Benoit at Mania, HHH pulls a Summerslam 99 on him, necessitating a tournament culminating at Backlash, with HHH and Benoit as the finalists. Kick-wham-Pedigree-Randy Orton Feud. Guest Jimbo Report post Posted February 23, 2004 this is kinda random, but just for laughs, couldn't the WWE mix one of their 3-way main events up for once and have it elimination stylee? We ALWAYS have it the same way...let's see some change for once!

Guest Deviant Report post Posted February 23, 2004 Single fall three ways suck 90% of the time. When it's elimination, I usually enjoy it much more, because at least you get a singles match at the end while having fun with the three man dynamic. Also, double team attacks can be used effectively to eliminate a guy, before then logically facing each other. I think those two WWE matches mentioned(Taker's in particular) are also horribly overrated. That's not to say that they are bad, but repetitive finishers and using your opponent's finishers doesn't make a ****1/2 classic...

All your stupid ass T-Shirts say you do. What do you mean "his moment" ? I haven't heard anything about HBK vetoing a Benoit win. It is a 3 way at Mania as WWE simply don't have the faith that Benoit/HHH will draw on it's own. Obviously Mania will draw regardless but the TV might suffer if it's just Benoit/HHH. If Benoit can get over enough then WWE might have enough faith in him to give him the titel at Backlash. Until then, he's suited to being the challenger.
