Welcome to Mooseport seemed too much like Everybody Loves Raymond with a new family, so I'm not surprised it bombed.

When You Got Served made more in its first week than you, your marketing sucks (Eurotrip).

Yay Miracle...such a good movie. Hopefully it sticks around for a while.

Eurotrip has gotten tons of advertising, the movie just has no namepower at all, comedies like this never seem to do great.

I've only seen a few ads for EuroTrip.

On a side note, Against The Ropes BOMBED. That's the Meg Ryan boxing movie right?

I wouldn't say bombed. It was only in 1601 theaters. I mean, it's still wide release and it could have done better, but it's not like it played in 3500 theaters.

Yeah.....no namepower and an R-rating...

If your theater is anything like mine, they were making sure nobody under 17 went to Eurotrip by parking the police nazis at the front of the entrance...

I'm very interested to see how much The Passion makes next week, although it will be a bit weakened by the weekend since it opens on Wed.

I've read reports that it will bring in 75Mil+ over it's first five days. I don't doubt that either, if the rest of the country is anything at all like it is here, it's going to be huge.

Oh, I'll be seeing it right away. I bet it will make good money; even though it is rated R.

I think it's safe to call Against the Ropes a bomb...I think a lot of theatres didn't pick it up cause it had bomb written all over it. And it'll be on even less screens next week and out of the top 10.

Much like Miracle, I have zero interest in the Passion of Christ

So a bunch of jews killed a con man named Haysoos...why should I care. That is unless he goes Mad Max style on those who wronged him.

"Passion" will top 100 million on the first weekend, if not more than that.

Jesus in a positive role promoted by the church= Money.

What was the other movie opening this weekend? I want to know what is on the way to the slaughter.

I'm not going to see it though, I fear insane people in theaters and will be hard pressed not to laugh at the ones crying at the death of Christ. As long as no one takes the movie SOOO serious that they attack Jewish people, but sadly I think somewhere in the South will shall see such a thing.

As for this weekend, good riddance to EURO TRIP. And "Against the Ropes" looked like a porno with Jill Kelly and Sean Michaels with Ron Jeremy in the Tony Schaloub part.

I've seen TONS of ads for Eurotrip - and only a fourth as many (if that) for "Confessions", and yet that did much better than Eurotrip. Kind of disappointing.

Forget "Against the Ropes" - after the poor showing of "Mooseport", can we officially label the Ray Romano movie career D.O.A.? Or will Hollywood crank out a couple more stinkers with him before they get the hint?

Oh.....and my latest conspiracy theory is that Gibson created all the controversy around "Passion" himself just to get a big box office.

I actually saw Eurotrip. I hadn't gone to the movies in months...but I felt like taking in a show.

Anyway...I expected it to suck...I hated Road Trip and this looked like the exact same thing...with lesser known people.

Much to my surprise...I really enjoyed it. There were a bunch of hilarious lines (IMO anyway) in that movie.

What controversy was there?

You don't watch much TV do you?

Between only seeing a few Eurotrip commercials and not being aware of the controversy surrounding Passion, I'm betting not.

I mainly stick to sports channels and watching the few particular programs I like (Everwood, King of the Hill, Simpsons, a few others).

Let's see.....Jewish groups are up in arms over the film, saying that it will cause Anti Semitism to run rampant. The Vatican wanted to see it as well, etc.

The Passion is R rated but not in a way that would be cause adults to say "I don't want my kid seeing that." I'm guessing it's rated R due to crucifying Jesus, torture, etc.

From what I've heard, it'll make about 40 million in the first weekend.

Club Dread

I've only seen a couple of previews for that. And the previews don't tell you anything.

I see Twisted bombing pretty good

13-20

13 Cold Mountain $2,264,111/$90,712,258

14 Along Came Polly $2,142,535/$84,955,980

15 Catch That Kid $1,774,617/$15,108,033

16 Something's Gotta Give $1,601,175/$121,417,924

17 Big Fish $1,187,814/$65,150,895

18 Lost in Translation $831,250/$43,217,012

19 Cheaper by the Dozen $725,974/$135,444,586

20 Girl with a Pearl Earring $724,269/$8,536,275

----------------------------

Girl with the Pearl Earing is doing very well considering that it was only on 319 screens. 480 less then Cheaper By The Dozen.

The Big Bounce was in 66th place, and that's after only 4 weeks in theatres. It made just over $21,000 last week in 34 theatres, and has done just about six and a half million overall...now that's a bomb

The production budget on Catch that Kid was $18,000,000. So it might break even in theatres.

However, I have a feeling that the majority voting for it haven't even seen it.
