Guest Your Olympic Hero Report post Posted February 23, 2004 I was wondering if anyone on here remembered a WCW US title tournament that lasted from the end of 1992 until the first part of 1993. In specific, I was wondering if either of these two matches were good: Ricky Steamboat vs. Barry Windham in the semifinals, and Ricky Steamboat vs. Dustin Rhodes in the finals. Maybe a match time or star rating, or possibly a link to a review. Thanks.

Actually, it was ORIGINALLY for a shot at Rude's US Title, but Rude had a neck injury and had to forfeit the belt during the tournament. The tourney was OK. The final was pretty darned good. -=Mike

Guest MikeSC Report post Posted February 23, 2004 Who won the title? Dustin won the belt when he pinned Steamboat. He then retained against him the next week in another good match. -=Mike
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2004 He didn't pin him, he beat him via count-out after Windham interfered on the floor.

Guest wayzing Report post Posted February 23, 2004 How was the Windham/Steamboat match, then? That's one of my all time dream matches. Anyone know if they faced each other in the mid 80's?
cawthon777 0 Report post Posted February 23, 2004 He won the title by a count out in a tourney final? Yep, which resulted in Steamboat getting the quick rematch.

Drury37 0 Report post Posted February 25, 2004 I have like that whole tournament on video and the Steamboat Vs. Rhodes finals was a great match until the end but still a very strong finish. Thanks.
