Today in my work email account, I got an email that said "see this!" in the subject. The inside body only said "is this your cd?" and it had a ZIP file attached. I scanned the file for diseases and then opened it and it was a work project from a shared drive at work and an excel spreadsheet from my hard drive.

The email came from [email protected] or something like that.

Anyone ever had something similar happen? Can someone get into my works shared drive and send the information back to me?

It's probably Netsky.C, which was "released" yesterday and caused a lot of problems. We got a bunch of infected emails before Symantec even had a virus definition in place(they had one for Netsky.B, but the .C version is a brand-new strain). By the time we got the definition (and we get them pretty much right away), we'd gotten hundreds of infected emails, and had at least six actual cases of virus infection, which are still being worked on.

Update your definitions and scan again. If you opened the attachment, though, you might be fux0red.

I think that Symantec updates automatically daily on my computer. I just checked and it was updated today so I ran it again and no viruses were detected.

Do you know what the symptoms of this new virus are? Is there something I should be looking for?
