Marvel, Lions Gate Teaming For Punisher 2, Iron Fist, Black Widow

 

New comic movies announced...

 

Lions Gate has announced that it will work with Marvel to bring The Punisher 2, Iron Fist, and Black Widow to the big screen. Lions Gate is honoring the deal that Artisan Entertainment made with Marvel a few years back. Since then, Lions Gate has bought out Artisan.

 

Lions Gate will start their relationship with Marvel through The Punisher which they are distributing. That film comes out April 16th.

Shouldn't they wait to see how PUNISHER 1 does before they announce they will release Punisher 2?

Now THAT would be fun. A wise cracking hitman with a healing factor and a kick ass costume. That is easily a franchise.

I wouldn't wait...

 

Punisher has it's fanbase....whether they'll show up for the R-rated flick in theaters remains to be seen. I'm sure it will make a ton of money post-theater.

The Iron Fist movie has been rumored to be a go for a couple of years now. Ray Park (Darth Maul) was officially signed a long while ago for the title role.

 

If Marvel made "Blade" (a relatively unkown character) a succesful franchise, then maybe they could do it with another one, don't you think?

But see, Blade always had the potential to be cool. Iron Fist is lame. He has sandals and a Zorro mask and his shaved chest half exposed. Black Widow seems like "Been there and done that" with all the colossal amounts of megashitties that's been out. I bet they'll want Garner for that and remake an Alias ep.
