I would say rub some ice over his gums, but I doubt you're willing to do that. I'll do anything to get him to stop screaming. Take a thin cloth and put a piece of ice in it and let the baby suck on it. Make sure it's not too thin. Also look for Hylands Teething Gel and Hylands Teething Tablets. Both work really well and are all natural so there isn't really the issue of giving it to a kid too young. The tablets dissolve instantly and work great at instant calm down almost. I would swear by them. You may have to cross the border for them as I don't know if they are in Canada but I do know they have them in Bellingham at Rite Aid and Walgreens. Awesome. Guest stardust Report post Posted March 1, 2004 We've used the baby Orajel on my niece and nephew, too, CWM in case you can't find the stuff Rant suggested (Orajel can be bought just about anywhere, including your local Wal-Mart), that way you don't have to try and circumvent any laws, y'know. But I work because if I don't then my addictive personality kicks in hardcore. I finally heard from her...on the phone. She says she's coming for him "Sometime this week". I went ballistic and called her an "irrespnsible whore" and told her that I was getting tested and that if he was mine then she'd never see him again. I have a temper. His mom has still not shown up. He's sleeping alot better now and I'm starting to get really attached to him so hopefully he is me. But, just to be the wet blanket here, what are you going to do with the kid if he isn't yours now that you care about the little rugrat? Are you still thinking Children's Services? On that note, let me say that I admire the stance you are taking with the kid. You've got a lot more responsible outlook on the situation than I would have had at your age.
