Giuseppe Zangara Posted February 28, 2004 Author Report Posted February 28, 2004 I'll play it next week. Oh, given the sheer length of that song, I won't be able to take anymore requests. Just listen, people.

godthedog Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 speaking of which, i heard "in a silent way" on the campus radio station this afternoon. i marked the fuck out, and i thought of you. in that order. i've also wondered what kind of reaction would be provoked if someone played coltrane's "ascension" on the air in its entireity.
Guest Derek Bailey Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 I've been forgetting to listen to this for months. I'll stop now.

The Czech Republic Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 How does one procure a spot at the college radio station? As somebody going into college next year, it's always something I've wanted to try, as my family has had a history in the radio business. Do I need to major in communications?
Sandman9000 Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 MY show: http://www.elon.edu/wsoe/iWSOE/webcast.htm Sunday, midnight-2. Heavy metal.

As somebody going into college next year, it's always something I've wanted to try, as my family has had a history in the radio business. Do I need to major in communications? It varies from school to school. I just filled out an application, did some training, and I was on the air. Other places may require more from you.
The Amazing Rando Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 At my old school it was offered as a class, and if the prof. thought you were good enough to be on air then they would offer you a slot, or if they needed someone desperately somebody could sneak in and fill it if they've had training.

Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Uh...Johnson rules. Why are you ducking? In a Silent Way is held in high regard by some...real high regard. And Choken, I'd prefer if you never responded to one of my posts again, I have a reputation to with hold. PS. I am talking about A Tribute to Jack Johnson by Miles not the smoked out surfer folk singer.

You gotta celebrate that shit. XxX style, of course.
rising up out of the back seat-nuh Posted February 29, 2004 Report Posted February 29, 2004 Inc, I reccomend something by Jaga Jazzist for a future show. However, I'm starting a 9-5 job this Monday, so I probably wont get to hear it anymore.

Lord of The Curry Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 What's this song that's good to make love to? Because it's really good. Don't know if I'd make love to it, but good nonetheless.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 "Sweet Release," by the Tindersticks. Everyone should have sex while this band is playing.
PLAGIARISM! Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Have you heard XTC's latest? (Apple Venus volume 1 & 2) I think they're magnificent, if not very very gay.
Giuseppe Zangara Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 Have you heard XTC's latest? (Apple Venus volume 1 & 2) I think they're magnificent, if not very very gay. Apple Venus is fantastic; Wasp Star less so. I never feel like less of a man for listening to either, as I'm super secure in my heteroness.
Lord of The Curry Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Doth mine ears detect some Nick Cave? Righteous.
