TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 You gotta be kidding me...how could it win best editing with 435 endings.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 God Damn...U know how for Grammies...if an artist won a BIG one and some meaningless ones they just give that person all of them at once...they should done that here... Put Williams and Crystal up there for 2 hours.
Insane Bump Machine Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 the endings were the best part of the movie.
NYU Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I just pray LOTR doesn't win any big awards. God knows a deserving film should get them. *yawn* This anti-bandwagon thing is getting a little old. What bandwagon? Mystic River was an infinitely superior movie. That's fine. You have your own opinion. But it's tiring to read people saying that LOTR doesn't deserve to win any big awards, and that they would be happy seeing anybody else win. Return of the King was STILL one of the best movies of the year, even if you may think Mystic River or Lost in Translation were better. There would certainly be no shame in watching it win Best Picture, and it's silly for some to act as if it has no right winning the top Oscar.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I despise this movie Jesus Christ...has it LOST one yet? 1, I think. Best sound something or other.
bobobrazil1984 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 actually the editing is one of the ones I might not have handed to ROTK. as someone who edits myself, i had a few little probs with it. But the Gondor theme from rotk ruled... Good on you Shore! GO ROTK!!!!
Kahran Ramsus Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 I despise this movie Jesus Christ...has it LOST one yet? 1, I think. Best sound something or other. Wasn't nominated.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I despise this movie Jesus Christ...has it LOST one yet? 1, I think. Best sound something or other. How will it EVER live that down?
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 you know I have to agree with the endings, they pretty much killed the thing for me. At the end of the big fight I had it as "good" but the end knocked it down to "eh". oh this should be good
NoCalMike Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Uh oh - The Censors had to zoom in close enough so Jamie Lee Curtis's cleavage was NOT in the shot.....
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 For me there will be shame if LOTR defeats Mystic River. I found it ok but nowhere near Mystic River(ahead of the other 3, though I haven't seen Lost in Translation).
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Those who haven't seen this are likely going "Why is American Pie's Dad singing a shitty song"...
Kahran Ramsus Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 I would have given score to LOTR, and editing to Seabiscuit.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I despise this movie Jesus Christ...has it LOST one yet? 1, I think. Best sound something or other. Wasn't nominated. Yes it was. I did a little danc when it lost. This song should win.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 This song is SO winning the award since they gave it's own slot and brought in the MOVIE set for it...while the others got nothing.
TheOriginalOrangeGoblin Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Last song performed wins. It's been like that as long as I can remember.
NoCalMike Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I don't know how ROTK won best editing when the theatrical cut was over 3 hrs, and pretty much 75% of the first hour didn't really need to be in there.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 does the Oscars REALLY need a Orchresta? They should just have DJ Ran going "THIS IS JAMIE LEE CURTIS! SHE'S ALL UP IN MY ZONE!"
Guest El Satanico Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Wasn't Blame Canada the last song performed.
Kahran Ramsus Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 Yes it was. I did a little danc when it lost. This song should win. Sound Effects Editing which was won by Master & Commander, also had Finding Nemo & Pirates of the Caribbean nominated. Only the three were nominated in that category. LOTR won best Sound Mixing.
Guest Choken One Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 Last song performed wins. It's been like that as long as I can remember. 'Cept for last year. "Lose Yourself" won but wasn't performed.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 dude I'm changing my vote, this song owns
