Thoth Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 (edited) Lovely. Doesn't run on my Mac. Crap. At least the direct links do. Edited March 1, 2004 by Thoth
Michrome Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 These matches are really a sad commentary. Watching the crowd get rabidly into AJ vs. Ki, when Ki hadn't been around for months, just because the action was so good reminds me of how TNA used to differentiate itself. Of course, seeing Russo towering over Styles reminded me of how stupid that was. I mean, did you hear the crowd pop in that 3-way when AJ won the title? That's what TNA used to do--things you would never see on WWE TV.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 What's most interesting about the result of that 3 way is what's happened since. Jarrett got the title back...and WWE put there title on Eddy. So now it IS something that you would see on WWE TV...but not in TNA.
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 I was mega-disappointed I didn't order the show that had AJ's title win. Now I'm psyched I get to see it, simply awesome. GREAT move by TNA.
AnonymousBroccoli Posted March 1, 2004 Author Report Posted March 1, 2004 When will these free airings be showing? The three matches above are what they're offering for free. I assume at the start of every month, they'll do someone new.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 1, 2004 Report Posted March 1, 2004 It's running constantly. Just click the links.
Guest JacK Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 How big are the downloads? Because I'm at college, and it's like 9 cents a megabyte; and I'm already paying a fortune in college/uni fee's. Plus, the Wireless LAN is bodgy and cuts out more than occassionally.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I saw the Styles/Low Ki match for the first time... what a dumbass finish to an awesome match. What do you guys give it?
Michrome Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 I'd say ***1/2. Better than the April ROH match, not as good as their august ROH one, and not in the same league as their Z-1 one.

AnonymousBroccoli Posted March 7, 2004 Author Report Posted March 7, 2004 For a TNA World Title match, it was relatively BS-free. Not being someone who regularly gives star ratings or fully knows how the rating system works, I'd give it ***½. I don't think it could've been much better, considering the near-15 minutes they were given, and the TNA booking style.
Guest JacK Posted March 7, 2004 Report Posted March 7, 2004 Cool thanks for the numbers man. I think I'll get the XXX one when it's not 2 in the morning, and I have uni the next day.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I watched 2 of the 3, liked 'em both, but I wish AJ hit the Styles Clash in the triple threat, because that is just an awesome move. What was the deal with Shane Douglas in that match anyway?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Styles did hit the Styles Clash in the triple threat. He pinned Jarrett with it.
Guest Dids Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I thought the XXX match was nice. Loved seeing AJ and D-Lo's double team moves. Thought the stuff with the ref was kinda silly. The Raven/Jarrett/AJ match was OK. I'm not a huge fan of either Raven or Jarrett- but I was entertained. All the Russo stuff was pretty lame- but the in ring action was nice. AJ/Low-Ki was good. I've seen better matches from both- and the finish licked balls. Even if you wanted AJ to cheat to win, it could have been done a lot better. From somebody who doesn't watch a lot of TNA, this free preview shows what seems to be wrong with the promotion. Decent workers, good matches, but booking that takes away from the work and doesn't make sense.
Masked Man of Mystery Posted March 11, 2004 Report Posted March 11, 2004 Styles did hit the Styles Clash in the triple threat. He pinned Jarrett with it. Maybe I got my matches confused. Sorry about that.
Guest Deviant Posted March 12, 2004 Report Posted March 12, 2004 This will be cool in future months if they release some matches I haven't seen, but for the general populace, there's nothing better to give away than AJ Styles matches.
