Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 This story sounds like something I would've done in highschool... good stuff lol And while I understand why the people were mad, I do find it funny that he was ejected from the theater for being disruptive while the good forgiving and loving christians were the ones throwing things at him They should have handled it differently but what would you have done if you just paid 9 bucks after preparing yourself for a film portraying the most important thing you've ever heard about, that changed your life, and some kid comes in dressed as your biggest enemy, trivializing everything? They could have ignored him. It's not like he walked up to everybody and started harrassing them. To me, the other patrons are the ones that caused a disturbance, not the guy in the devil costume. Guest thebigjig Report post Posted March 5, 2004 of course... I just thought of something... would everyone, including myself, still be singing a different tune if someone showed up dressed as Hitler, to a screening of Schindlers List?? I would probably still find it funny in a really sadistic "that is sooo wrong ha ha" sort of way

I mean, I'll have a chuckle at what others are doing, but I'm too respectful of the people who are serious about it like ol' SP here to actively annoy them. Ripper 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 I'm too respectful of people that paid money to see professional actors act, and not some want to be stand-up comedian trying to be funny during the movie. I really don't care which movie it is, but this one especially. Thats like if a bunch of WWII vets bought out a theater to watch Saving Private Ryan and some guy stood up and said "Oh it wasn't that bad" (or something actually funny...) then I wouldn't be upset to hear they were pummeled to death. Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 The difference is Hitler was a real person. As is Satan. Unfortunately. Though I suppose a specific definition of person could apply. A real being, however, he is. And one that is the one true enemy of Christians.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted March 5, 2004 Yeah yeah...you people always gotta blame Satan for everything that goes wrong. Oh yeah don't blame your so called all powerful god for anything, after all he allowed it to happen. If "G" is so powerful, why is he Satan's bitch when it comes to bad stuff happening? This is like entirely blaming fucked up kids/adults on their parents and entertainment they had access to as a child.
Guest Danny Dubya v 2.0 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 I blame the entity that is the direct cause of the problem, regardless of religious beliefs. I blame mankind.
Guest SP-1 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 Our own sinful selves are often responsible. I find it odd that i would wish to blame God for misfortune when He's generally the one that sets things right in my life when I ask Him to.

A real being, however, he is. And one that is the one true enemy of Christians. Well, the original question was: would everyone, including myself, still be singing a different tune if someone showed up dressed as Hitler, to a screening of Schindlers List?? Hitler is a verifiable "real person", whereas faith is the only way to verify Satan as a "real person". Not everyone believes it to be true, therefore dressing as Hitler for a showing of Schindler's List would cause more of a stir than what this kid did. Perhaps the only way to recognize. But as for the heart of what you're saying: Yes. Someone dressed as Hitler would probably cause a riot.
