Guest wayzing Report post Posted March 3, 2004 Ok this is what I don't get...everyone knows that Flair is seriously hurt...so why put him in a match at WM 20? I do understand this is a "special" wrestlemania but still. Shouldn't Flair just be in the corner cheering Orton and Batista on instead of risking personnal injury? Thanks, Scroby! The reports on Flair's condition combined with him saying he'll be ready by WrestleMania says one thing to me: He can't let go. He will never stop until every promoter in the world has said, "Sorry champ, but it's for your own good". He's obviously an addict. An entertaining, charismatic well-liked addict, but still. He needs to stay away from the physical abuse he's taking in that ring, but I'm not sure he ever will. Obviously we don't know what drives him to it and what it would be like not to have ít anymore. But from here, it looks like he's taking it too far now. Come on, Flair. Walk that aisle. No, come back here. The other way, m'kay? And just for the record: Nature Boy Ric Flair - Best.Wrestler.Ever. Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted March 3, 2004 If the WWE is planning on making a movie, they should just put Ric Flair on screen for 3 hours. The way he looks like he's always on crack, and his crazy sayings: Follow the Champ! Our Great Leader, HHH! Champ! Champ! Champ! Wooo! Wooo! Wooo! Woooo! Alright! It would be the funniest movie since..... :Still thinking of a funny movie: ....DUCK SOUP!

Because Orton and Botchtistia cant get heat... God Damn...have you people realized yet they have put Flair, Rock and Foley in the same match at WM in MSG and yet the presence of Botchtistia and Orton completely ruin it... I'd love if they could have drawn in Funk in for the hell of it...(Mick's good friend and long time nemesis of Flair)...

Guest Mad the Swine Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Flair's supposedly drinking much LESS than he used to. And he's been off the wall in interviews for years, so this isn't anything new. Though in some of the ones on Nitro, I believe he was smashed. And if he does wrestle at Mania, I would believe that he was the one who talked his way into it. He's been telling people that he could work if he was needed. He's still enough of that old-school mentality that he'll work through just about anything. Vertigo, cracked disc in his neck, two torn rotator cuffs. Each time he's offered to prolong his misery.

I suppose this will be when Evolution breaks up, during the inevitable Flair/HHH vs. Batista/Orton match, unless Batista gets injured before then.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted March 4, 2004 (edited) They won't let Batista attempt the BotchistaBomb on someone with a fucked back or neck after he almost killed Shawn. Edited March 4, 2004 by Anglesault
CanadianChick 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 They won't let Batista attempt the BotchistaBomb on someone with a fucked back or neck after he almost killed Shawn. And if RVD wasn't gumby, he probably would have gotten killed too.
Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Ohhhhh ok, yeah it was seriously bugging me. I would have brought it up yesterday but I'd wasn't able to get on yesterday. If Ric gets so hurt that he can't wrestle anymore, I hope he sues the hella outta Vince. He shouldn't be in the ring.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 They won't let Batista attempt the BotchistaBomb on someone with a fucked back or neck after he almost killed Shawn. Just like they wouldn't let Heidenreich nearly kill a wrestler with a bad neck/back after he nearly did that first time? Oh, wait...

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 as usual...that was scarcasm. As usual...It went over your head No, it wasn't "scarcasm." Flair's position as the well of heat Evolution constantly dips into and the sales of the Flair DVD make him a "money maker." I certainly believe they'd try to protect him more than Richards.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2004 yes they would try to protect him but I was simply saying they still alow the money makers (kurt, HHH) to work through injures and take somewhat unneccesary bumps...
Highland 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 Ohhhhh ok, yeah it was seriously bugging me. I would have brought it up yesterday but I'd wasn't able to get on yesterday. If Ric gets so hurt that he can't wrestle anymore, I hope he sues the hella outta Vince. He shouldn't be in the ring. And I hope the case never even makes it to court. If Ric Flair is too old/banged up to perform in the ring then he doesn't belong in the ring. Everyone has to get off this nostalgia kick: Flair used to be one of the greatest, he isn't anymore. Time to hang'em up.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 4, 2004 No Case there...Wrestlers rarely win these type of deals anyways...
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 No one is forcing Ric Flair to workWM. Him and Vince are friends. If Flair went up to Vince and said he can't wrestle at WM. Vince would say you sure Ric, we really need you. Flair could say Yes, if that's what he really wanted.
Guest wayzing Report post Posted March 4, 2004 I agree. This is Flair's own decision. If he's there, which I'm sure he will be, it's because he pushed for it. It's not an exact quote I guess but that "if he's needed" line just sounds so desperate. As I wrote earlier; an addict. Of course it will be an awesome feeling for him walking the aisle as a competitor at WMXX in MSG but when is he gonna stop? Too late is my guess. Hopefully this is the last time and then he goes out in style.
