Idea for the Smackdown Tag Titles

Recommended Posts

OK...so we don't have the Smackdown and Raw Tag Title situations matching each other...here's my idea for the Smackdown Tag Team Titles:

A Mini Tournament.

You have four teams...so on one side, you have APA against World's Greatest Tag Team...the other, Rikishi and Scotty vs. The Basham Brothers.

The winners of the two matches face each other later in the evening to decide the fate of the titles.

Opinions?

No, only because I don't want to see A.P.A. or 2 Cool have that much time on the Pay-per-view.

Maybe they should do an eight man tag (WGTT/Bashams vs 2 Cool/APA) where a stipulation is added where whoever scores the pinfall, wins the championship for his team?

I don't believe the Bashams should continue to be a part of the SD! Tag scene, but if they must, the best thing to do, IMO, is an eight man 4 vs. 4 match.

So, you'd rather WEAKEN the tag team ranks just because you find a team boring by removing them from it alltogether?

No offense...but not sound thinking.

That seems like most probable outcome, assuming you mean the semi's would be on Heat

I find them to be boring and heatless. They add nothing to the division, so dropping them does no harm.

Build up Yakuza and turn the FBI face to add to the divison

Given the chance to perform as they COULD, the Bashams could improve...as I've heard from fans of OVW.

If anything, get APA out. Simmons has said he wants to retire...and Bradshaw should do better in financing anyway.

And I've heard that Batista is GREAT.

Fans of OVW are crack addicts.

The Bashams wrestle the most dull, basic uninteresting tag matches I've seen in 5 years.

The APA at least knows when to work in their big spots.

There must be some real duds in OVW because some of these guys must be great only by comparison. I keep thinking about how Matt Morgan supposedly had charisma coming out of his ears, and ended up just another lumbering giant who rarely talked and had a funny dye job.

Nah, I'd rather see another 4 Way from SD for WM.

*hopes WGTT gets the titles back

I'm personally still trying to get over how being a beast that litterally rose from the depths of The Ohio River is a great gimmick. I look at OVW reports the same way I do about white guys that work Japan, I'll believe how good they are when I see them.

You think FBI could turn face? Don't get me wrong, I'm a big FBI fan, but I can't see the fans getting behind them as a face team. I'd make them one of the main heel teams, though.

TWGTT going face would be a better idea. Obviously, they can't do it right now on the heels of their TWGAPA segment, but I'd think the fans would buy into them as faces moreso than the FBI.

Only if the first two matches are on Heat, and WGTT and 2 Cool win them.

The mini tournament wouldn't be a good idea because the matches would be heatless and boring considering the teams involved. The 4-way is the best choice at this point or probaby a mini-TagTeam Tourmoil if you want to make it different from RAW's.
