Lightning Flik Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 And now, the shit has hit the fan truly. Now it sounds to me as if Lesnar is sick of the politicking and the bullshit that comes along with everything else. NOT his actual schedule. This is such a big blow to the WWE. Although he's going to try out for the NFL? Why do I get the feeling someone from the NFL has already been in contact with Brock Lesnar and probably offering him a hell of a paycheck? ...I'd be figuring RB or T just because of his size, speed, and fitness.
haVoc Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 One of the Mods need to change the title of this thread so people know Brock quit.
Enigma Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 I agree. Pull a reverse Bob Ryder and remove the "?".
Lightning Flik Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 But S D, he's not taking a "leave". He's out right quitting. And I'm quite sure that if Brock really is committed to trying to get a job in the NFL, someone in the NFL will give Brock a job.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Wow, Vince, that Bob Holly push was REALLY worth it, huh?
Enigma Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 I hope UT is happy. Maybe if he had actually done his job and put over Brock at Unforgiven '02 Brock wouldn't be so negative upon working with him. Stupid asshole.
Lightning Flik Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Wow, Vince, that Bob Holly push was REALLY worth it, huh? And the set up for the WCW Goliath vs. the WWE Goliath with the WWF Goliath as ref was really just as good too. Geezus, they've lost their biggest creation. That's absolutely got ot suck. ...hey, you remember the insane amount of money that the MMA company threw at Lesnar not that long ago? Maybe that made Brock realize that all the politicking and bullshit that goes on with creative wasn't really worth it?
Guest Goodear Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 One of the Mods need to change the title of this thread so people know Brock quit. Done and done.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 BROCK LESNAR DEFINITELY GONE FROM WWE AFTER WRESTLEMANIA by Dave Scherer @ 10:56:12 AM on 3/10/2004 Brock Lesnar informed WWE management yesterday that his last date for the foreseeable future will be at WrestleMania. Check back later today for more on this story. credit:pwinsider
Enigma Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 Now Linda McMahon won't have an excuse when the "So, where's this new main-event talent the brand extension was supposed to create?" question comes up at conference calls.
EdwardKnoxII Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I hope UT is happy. Maybe if he had actually done his job and put over Brock at Unforgiven '02 Brock wouldn't be so negative upon working with him. Stupid asshole. But...but...it's the Undertaker's yard and Brock has to pay his dues.....and....and if Brock wants his spot he has to take it from him. But, yeah seeing the shit Brock has had to put up with for being a ME I can see why he's pissed.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I hope UT is happy. Maybe if he had actually done his job and put over Brock at Unforgiven '02 Brock wouldn't be so negative upon working with him. Stupid asshole. I don't blame Taker at all (for that PPV, anyway). Taker had to challenge at No Mercy that year, he coldn't job at Unorgiven. I DO blame the pointless Bob Holly push though. It really ruined two of the last three months of Brock's reign, and forced him to drop down somewhat and work with a carer useless midcarder.
The Amazing Rando Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I don't see why Brock would care THAT MUCH about having to put over the Deadman... Earth to Brock... You would still be in the business five years from now... Taker wouldn't... You wouldn't be remembered as the guy that laid down to him, I'm 99.9% certain he would be remembered for the great matches you had and that crazy fucking SSP.
Guest Askewniverse Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I'm going to try to be optimistic, and say that I'll wait for Meltzer to confirm it. If this is true, it's a huge blow to WWE. It will be interesting to see what happens at WrestleMania. I really hope they don't go with the Judgment Day '98 finish. Anybody else find it strange that the last few people to leave WWE were all from SmackDown? Nathan Jones, Spanky, and now Lesnar.

HBK said in a shoot interview once that the people on top trying to sabotage him and hold him back when he was trying to move up the ranks discouraged him from wrestling so much that he wanted to quit and was the total reason he was "such an asshole" when he got to the top. So, I don't doubt it.
the pinjockey Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Does anyone else think that Vince is going to panic now and throw a shitload of money at Goldberg to replace Lesnar in the monster spot? BTW, I would mark the fuck out if Lesnar took DSE's offer and showed up in the upcoming Pride GP. I wonder if that offer would still stand if he doesn't have the WWF ties.
deancoles Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Brock Lesnar vs Bob Sapp would be a huge match in Japan.

You bet it would still stand, and it would be even better for them, since they don't have to pay WWE for it now.
Guest Anglesault Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 . Geezus, they've lost their biggest creation. Yeah, now who are they gonna build as their top big homemade star? ... ohmygod
haVoc Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I'm shocked Vince would be cool enough to let Lesnar out of his contract.
Guest Trivia247 Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 kinda sounds like how Ultimate Warrior quit WWF because he didn't want to do a program vs Nailz
Guest Anglesault Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I don't get what Taker was supposed to do at Unforgiven. If he jobbed clean, who challenges at No Mercy?
Guest Askewniverse Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 . Geezus, they've lost their biggest creation. Yeah, now who are they gonna build as their top big homemade star? ... ohmygod What's wrong with Edge? ::looks at own sig (the one on the right):: Um, well, AS...at least it's not Test.
Enigma Posted March 10, 2004 Author Report Posted March 10, 2004 kinda sounds like how Ultimate Warrior quit WWF because he didn't want to do a program vs Nailz He didn't quit because of that. He complained about it, so instead they teamed him up with Randy Savage against Ric Flair & Razor Ramon. In fact, he didn't even quit at all. He was fired (along with Davey Boy Smith) because Vince thought they were getting steroids from England.
Repo Man jr Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I can't help thinking WWE could of made up the rumor because everyone assumed Lesner would win at Manin with Goldberg leaving. Now it's more unpredictable and I want to see the match more.
Lightning Flik Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Yeah, now who are they gonna build as their top big homemade star? ... ohmygod It's either A-Train, Bob Holly, or Billy Gunn. What's the lesser of the three evils Anglesault? Better yet, which of these three will take Brock's spot? Seriously though, I was just thinking about Pride GP's offer and I could see Lesnar turning around and taking it. If Brock does that's a bigger slap of pain to the WWE than him leaving.
haVoc Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 Angle is being booked as a pretty damn good heel at the moment. He could carry the weight from Brock's absents.
Zetterberg is God Posted March 10, 2004 Report Posted March 10, 2004 I am still in shock over this. The Goldberg-Lesnar match will be very interesting now. Hell, the whole WM XX card is interesting. The three main matches have no clear cut winner.

What's the lesser of the three evils Anglesault? I wasn't limiting it to SD!, I just wanted to know who the company would push as their big homemade project. Um, well, AS...at least it's not Test. It's Test 2!
