Papacita 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 With the talk of tonight's Raw being one of the worst WM builds ever (which I think is an exaggeration given the build we got to WMX8), I'm curious as to what you all feel was the best Mania build. For me, my all around favorite build was for WMXIV (Shawn/Austin/Tyson, Taker/Kane [lightning or not, I liked it], Shamrock/Rock, Mero/Sable/Goldust/Luna, and even the Outlaws/Funk & Cactus build). The WM13 build is up there too, if only because it gave us Bret Hart's imfamous tirade on the final Raw before the show ("frustrated isn't a goddamn word for it, THIS IS BULLSHIT!") For individual matches, some of my favorites were Taker/HHH for X-7, Taker/Diesel and Shawn/Bret for XII (Taker's mind games and I loved the training videos for the Ironman match), and maybe Shane/X-Pac for XV. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Overall, can't say. Match-wise, I'd go with Michaels / Hart from WM 12. I just love that video where it focuses on both men's determination to win the Iron Man match.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted March 9, 2004 Overall show: 14 or 17. I'd say 17. Woot woot. Best build for a match: Rock/Austin at WM17, Austin/HBK at WM14, Austin/Hart at WM13, Savage/Flair for WM8, Hogan/Savage for WM5, Savage/Steamboat for WM3, HHH/Undertaker for WM17. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 9, 2004 WM X-7. Almost EVERY match had good build up, especially the four big matches. Vince/Shane, Austin/Rock, UT/HHH, and TLC II.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 10, 2004 WM III, duh. WTF? Only two matches out of 12 were even really hyped... WMXIV was built SOUNDLY from top to bottom...except the LW match and the Rumble... Best SINGLE Match Build up? You CAN NOT touch Ric Flair/Randy Savage. Guest Astro Report post Posted March 10, 2004 WM III, duh. WTF? Only two matches out of 12 were even really hyped... WMXIV was built SOUNDLY from top to bottom...except the LW match and the Rumble... Best SINGLE Match Build up? You CAN NOT touch Ric Flair/Randy Savage. Wrestlemania I's Main Event had the best build in a literal sense as it is what propelled Vince into a spot where he could go from near-broke to billionaire and WM III had alot more than 2 matches w/ build Rick Martel & Tom Zenk defeated "Cowboy" Bob Orton & Don Muraco Hillbilly Kid, Haiti Kid & Little Beaver defeated King Kong Bundy, Lord Littlebrook & Little Tokyo in a 6-Man Tag-Team Match Greg "the Hammer" Valentine & Brutus "the Barber" Beefcake defeated The Fabulous Rougeau Brothers The Iron Sheik & Nikolai Volkoff defeated the Killer Bees all had limited/ really no notable build (I'm tempted to ask over at KM.com) The Honky Tonk Man pinned Jake "the Snake" Roberts Harley Race pinned The Junkyard Dog Billy Jack Haynes battled Hercules Hernandez to a Double Countout "Rowdy" Roddy Piper pinned Adrian Adonis in a Hair vs Hair Match Bret "the Hitman" Hart, Jim "the Anvil" Neidhart & Danny Davis defeated The British Bulldogs & Tito Santana in a 6-Man Tag-Team Match Ricky "the Dragon" Steamboat pinned Randy Savage to win the WWF Intercontinental Championship Hulk Hogan pinned Andre the Giant to retain the WWF Championship Were all built up and the last 4 could've headlined MSG easily IMO
