So, our choices are "Accept the shit and LOVE IT~!" or "Stop Watching"

Sounds Familiar.

yes, exactly, and guess what? It makes perfect sense!!

Everywhere except here apparently

And ya know what? Most people use the same logic when it comes to offensive television or music... this same reasoning was used by many to defend WWE from the PTC... if you dont like it, don't watch it... stop bitching about it

Ooooh but it's DIFFERENT now?

I like to watch wrestling. I'd like to see it get better.

I'm not quite sure how totally giving up on it will help it to get better.

fair enough, but why cant you just watch another product?

I used to like Friends... a situational comedy. It turned really shitty in the last few years, so I stopped watching, but I didnt stop watching sitcoms all together... I just switched back to Frasier

I just dont understand why this same logic doesnt apply here... to me, bitching isn't the problem. Bitching all the time, even when you're getting something better, for WWE standards, gets a little ridiculous because when is enough going to be enough? If they cant satisfy you, what is the POINT in continuing to watch??

I'm not trying to incite more argument, I'm just trying to understand the reasoning because I just don't see it.

What other viable product do I have to watch?

There is no Frasier for me to switch to.

But not something good.

"Something better" than mind numbingly bad horseshit is bad horsehsit.

You could watch The Sopranos on Sundays instead of the PPVs. That's probably what I'll do this Sunday, unless there's a decent match on at the same time.

He means there's no other viable (read: "free") wrestling product for him to watch. And even if he was willing to pay for TNA, if he doesn't like a lot of the WWE product, chances are he won't be ecstatic about TNA.

I understand what you're saying... but when are you going to have enough??

I got fed up with the product last year, so I stopped watching, sometime after Mania XIX. Took probably 4 months off from watching... other factors weighed in too like my new job (which I'm at now... glad they dont check on me much) but then I decided to give it another chance, and so far, while I have some frustration, I think it's better than what I was watching before. But if they start pissing me off again to that level, then I'm simply going to stop watching again

I just see a certain level of cynicism that I understand, I just can't understand the logic in continuing to constantly watch it when you're just not going to be satisfied with anything they do

Anyway, I dont think this argument can go anywhere else, so lets move on... besides I'm sounding like a broken record

Eh, the Frasier comment threw me off.

I haven't watched TNA since Styles lost the title, but if things haven't changed since then, I'd say that you're right. TNA isn't really that much better.

Heres a question... if Benoit actually wins, he'll theoretically go on to face HHH or Shawn at Backlash, and assuming he comes out on top there... where does he go? RAW has plenty of faces that can go against HHH, but a lack of heels to go against a face Benoit

Good point. I always liked Benoit way better when he was a ruthless sadistic heel.

Anyway, the WM 20 card is pretty good although I would have made the following changes:

WWE Championship

Chris Benoit Vs. Brock Lesnar

World Heavyweight Title

Goldberg Vs. HHH

The Rock Vs. Shawn Michaels

Interpromotional Match

The Undertaker Vs. Kane

Interpromotional Match

Kurt Angle Vs. Ric Flair

Interpromotional Match

Eddie Guerrero Vs. Chris Jericho

Street Fight (or something)

Mick Foley Vs. Randy Orton w/ Dave Batista

United States Title

John Cena vs. The Big Show ©

Womens Title

Victoria Vs. Molly ©

World Tag Team Titles Fatal Four Way

The Hurricane / Rosey vs. Storm / Venis vs. The Dudleys vs. RVD/Booker T ©

WWE Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way

The Bashams vs. The APA vs. Haas/Benjamin vs. Rikishi and Scotty 2 Hotty ©

Cruiserweight Open

Christian Vs. Matt Hardy

Heat

Steven Richards Vs. Test

Notes: Benoit would have still won the RR, but would have never been moved to RAW, I would have ignored Christian staying a heel since the love angle botched in December (they should have continued with the Hardy / Christian thing they had going), and I would have saved Victoria's title win for Mania because Victoria winning it on RAW was retarded and the hair stip for Molly was even worse. And yes, The Undertaker and Scotty / Rikishi would be so jobbing.

You're arguing the entirely wrong point here. You didnt even address my points about how this is the f'ing WWE here where the so called high standards you demand do not exist nor have they existed, at least not in a very very long time.

What *the fuck* are you talking about. I responded with Brock/Benoit which happened only 3 months ago. Does that qualify as a "very very long time" in your world? They reached that level and it was actually quite easy. The "high standards I demand" DO exist and that's why I have them. I don't expect them to give me a ***** match every single night along with rich storylines full of plottwists as well as deep characters with many levels to them. I expect them to give me something GOOD. But, apparently, "GOOD" is too high and I am supposed to settle for "At least it's not the worst show ever".

I don't set my standards so high for the WWE product because I know I'm not going to get it.

And with that attitude from the fans, they will never feel the need to elevate their product to a respectible level. It's a nice circle of shit.

It's like going into a movie like "Dude, wheres my car" and expecting from the very beginning, to see a film like Schindler's List, and then BITCHING about it after you walk out of the theater.

I don't expect to see Schindlers's List. Hell, I liked "Dude, where's my car" more than Schindler's List so the point isn't very effective on me (but I'll play anyways). Even "Dude, where's my car" had character development (and different characters) and didn't completely forget for happened in the last scene or drop characters out of nowhere (or change their names). It at least had a creative throughline. I don't expect it to be an all-time-classic, but I expect it to have the fucking basics, at least, and not completely insult my intelligence.

You know why I have low standards for WWE? Because I KNOW I'm not going to get high standards! I enjoy it for what it is

So you enjoy pure shit. Celebrate that; it looks good on you.

No, you yourself said you are rarely ever satisfied. So fucking what if Benoit/Brock pleased you? If they aren't going to satisfy you on a regular basis, stop fucking pulling your hair out over it

And with that attitude from the fans, they will never feel the need to elevate their product to a respectible level. It's a nice circle of shit.

The fans LOVED the nice circle of shit that we got during most of the attitude era

Once again, you're not even getting my point, which is to say that WWE has always had a pretty low standard, so to go in expecting to see your standard is a little ridiculous... and it's sad that you dont have the same taste in movies as the amazing high standards you set for pro wrestling

So you enjoy pure shit. Celebrate that; it looks good on you

No, I enjoy what they're giving to me at the moment, to the point that I watch and enjoy. If you dont like what you're getting, order something else

My hair is perfectly in-tact. "So fucking what if Benoit/Brock pleased you?" this coming from a guy who says that I "do nothing but bitch about anything and everything". I can see why you like the WWE, you never hold up to what you say before. Benoit/Brock pleasing me has *everything* to do with this.

The fans LOVED the nice circle of shit that we got during most of the attitude era

What fans? *Looks out and sees tumble weed roll by*.. most of them left.

*Big Laugh* @ "Amazing high standards". I want you to explain that one to me. What, exactly, are my "Amazing high standards"??? An actual build to a match? Something more than just putting a title on a guy? MY GOD! Will anything satisfy me?? Dude, I get your point and your point is wrong. The WWE is fully capable of meeting my standards and have done so in the past. My taste in movies is different from my taste in music and is different from my taste in television. A movie is a singular viewing experience and lives and dies as one; a television show has many episodes and the television shows I usually enjoy have story-arcs and character development that span those many episodes.

YOU missed my point, which essentially is, these aren't "low standards" you have, they are NO STANDARDS. At all.

No, I enjoy what they're giving to me at the moment, to the point that I watch and enjoy. If you dont like what you're getting, order something else

You enjoy shit. Why are you responding to this Bigjig? Why are you having this discussion with me? You clearly don't like what you're reading here, so why don't you go somewhere else? It's a pretty fucking stupid point, don't you think?

A third Goldberg-HHH PPV match? The main event of a throwaway PPV would be the World title match at WrestleMania? Why?

Either way, it wouldn't be logical to put Goldberg in the World title match, because WrestleMania is supposed to be his last WWE appearance.

Unless it was WWE's way ot trying to bait him to renew his contract.

Ummm, I said... that the fans... loved... the crap... they got... during the attitude... era... meaning... the fans THEN... loved crap...

Christ I'm not even going to bother with you, this debate is over. We are agreeing to disagree

I've got access to plenty of wrestling alternatives...I buy NWA-TNA every week(my own personal taste), and I follow several indy promotions in the St. Louis area. It's kind of reached the point where I watch for the wrestlers and not necessarily the wrestling promotion.

It's highly unlikely that a promotion will ever be booked EXACTLY the way that one person wants to see it booked, and if you want a promotion like that, you might want to go and start your own.

So in other words, in my own case, I watch WWE because I get to see a lot of my favorites wrestle or otherwise entertain on a regular basis on my TV, even if they don't always get booked the way I would like to see them booked.

NWA-TNA depends highly on your own pocketbook and whether you feel willing to spend ten bucks a week on the show...it's a crapshoot either way, you may catch them on a good week and get some good X-Division matches, you may catch them on a bad week. Indy feds are also a crapshoot, there are good ones and bad ones, and believe me, I've seen both.

So, there are plenty of outlets for wrestling besides WWE, you just have to get off your duff and go look for them.

And... ummm... I said... that the... fans.... are.... gone...now.... so... clearly... they.... did.... not love... the crap.... for too.... long....or maybe.... just maybe.... the product... wasn't.... the.... actual.... reason.... they were.... watching.... Do you... have a... point?

Are you saying there is something to appreciate with the WWE?
