BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Nashville, TN – Dixie Carter, President of TNA Entertainment, LLC, announced yesterday a new marketing campaign for Total Nonstop Action Wresting. During a speech at the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM) Digital and Broadband Conference held in Los Angeles, Carter unveiled the “Wrestling Reinvented” campaign. “The content of wrestling has gotten out of hand,” said Carter. “In an effort to shock the viewer, storylines in our industry that were once considered obscene are now unfortunately common place. For a period of time now, Total Nonstop Action Wrestling has made a conscious shift in the content of our shows and will continue to do so. We have distinguished our product from our competitor and provided the pay-per-view buyer with a true alternative.” “Wrestling Reinvented is moving forward to the past,” Carter continued. “Our programming will be clean but also innovative, cutting edge and with the high-risk, high-flying athleticism TNA is known for.” The Wrestling Reinvented campaign will be supported by print, television and on-line marketing support. TNA Wrestling is the first-ever weekly wrestling pay-per-view series available every Wednesday night at 8pm ET/5pm PT. Available on iN DEMAND, DIRECTV and TVN as well as Viewer’s Choice and Bell ExpressVu in Canada, TNA features some of the most recognizable faces in wrestling today—including Sting, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, and more! With less talk and more in-ring action, TNA Wrestling has gained recognition as the definitive alternative for today’s wrestling enthusiast. The Buzz 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Gotta love how they milk Sting's name whenever possible. "TNA features some of the most recognizable faces in wrestling today—including Sting, Raven, Jeff Jarrett, AJ Styles, and more!"

Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Moreover, even Spike Dudley is more recognizable than AJ Styles right now. I'll conceed that people know Sting, Raven, and to a lesser extent Jarrett (since Raven was in WWE a little over a year ago and Jarret hasn't been seen on national TV since WCW folded), but AJ Styles? syxx2001 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Oh my god. 3/4 of your roster are WWE castoffs. Who gives a shit? Talent comes from somewhere and the WWE has let go some good guys. Jerry Lynn, Raven, D'Lo, Crash, Ron Killings, Dustin and B.G. James. Sure doesn't look like 3/4 of their roster to me. And when they don't mention AJ Styles, or Chris Sabin or Low Ki or whoever, you won't heard the end of the bitching, moaning and "Why don't they have faith in their future stars?" But when they do mention them everyone laughs and says "What? He isn't popular. No one knows who he is."

Silence 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 B.G. James. Huh? The same guy that's been doing the same "Road Dogg" schtick since 1998 and still doesn't have a lot of in-ring talent?

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 WWE should have fired that WCW castoff Steve Austin because it made them look minor league.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 If AJ Styles wasn't mentioned as being one of the most recognizable faces in wrestling I'd shrug, agree, and move on. There's a difference between "Top Star in the Promotion" and "Most Recognizable Face in Wrestling", you know. As for the WWE castoff thing, I have no problem with TNA signing them, but some of them were really pointless and added nothing (*COUGHJamalCOUGH*). However, Raven's been the closest to a draw the company's had, I believe, D'Lo has been good in an uppercard role, Douglas cuts great promos and is good at getting heat, Truth is a decent worker and good on the mic, not to mention a TNA mainstay (needs to ditch 3LK, though, that shit is so bad now), Lynn helped carry the company in its first months, and Crash would have been a great comedy character for TNA if he, y'know, hadn't died. I question B.G. James being mentioned, though. He's more of a detriment to TNA these days than a benefit, especially when he stinks up commentary with his "New French Fries" jokes. Silence 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Nashville, TN-With less talk and more in-ring action, TNA Wrestling has gained recognition as the definitive alternative for today’s wrestling enthusiast. What do they call what Jeff Jarrett and Vince Russo do most of the time, then, by taking up valuable wrestling time from others? Edit: My apologies, Bobo. I made it look like you posted it instead of TNA.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 A.J is pretty recognizable on the Indy scene so technically he is one of the most recognized faces in wrestling. Granted, I thought he was Reckless Youth for three months but that's just me.
