Guest Krazy Karter Report post Posted March 13, 2004 From Maven's official website, MavenHuffman.com: Since late December, Maven has been away from the ring due to both family issues and injuries. Though he returned in mid January, a broken elbow put the young gun back on the shelf. His hope at the time was to return by Wrestlemania. Even though he won't be retuning for the biggest show in Sports Entertainment, Maven will return to the ring next week and being touring with the WWE and the Raw brand once again. Maven's visit to his doctor recently was a good one. The doctor was very pleased with his rehabilitation and the amount of rotation and movement he had gained back so quickly. One last week of rehab was requested due to the fact that Maven had to take time off of rehabilitation to be with his family during his mother's passing. Though Maven has certainly faced many ups and downs in his time as a pro-wrestling, he isn't giving up and is more anxious to get back in the ring than ever before, and this will be his time. Most know Maven faced a tough family affair when his mother again battled with bone marrow cancer and Maven had to take time away from training to be with her. Then shortly after winning Tough Enough, Maven delayed his training in HWA (a previous training territory with WWE) to again be with his ailing mother. Then finally, fans got to see Maven in his first televised match against his former trainer, Tazz. From there you know the rest. However Maven would once again face adversity when breaking his leg doing a baseball slide against Christian in a Smackdown match. It took Maven nearly three times as long as expected to return due to a miss-diagnosis of the injury, and extensive damage to his tendons and cartilage. Finally, Maven returned again and seemed to be gaining a big head of steam rolling in though 2004. When Maven didn't appear on programming for two weeks in a row, fans began to wonder what happened. It turned out Maven was with his mother who had become extremely ill in her fight with cancer. Maven was granted a leave from WWE to be with his mother in this time. Shortly after, Maven would return to the ring for a match against Matt Hardy. Taking a huge leap for a cross body, Maven hit the mat awkwardly causing a facture of his radial head, just on the elbow. This has put Maven out of action until now. With Wrestlemania XX just 2 days away, the young and optimistic Maven would have hoped to be in the big show, but is ready to make his presence felt when he returns to the ring to work of the rust, and eventually be back on primetime with WWE and Raw live on Monday nights. To get fans ramped up about Maven's return, the former three-time WWE hardcore champion will sit down with WWEMaven.com to have a second interview. We hope to speak to Maven about his life and the passing of his mother, his injury, his near and distant future in WWE, along with other hot topics such as speculation to Goldberg leaving the WWE and Brock Lesnar's venture into the NFL. We will also be allowing fans to send in questions as usually. To do so, just email [email protected] and we will do our best to ask Maven your question. Please include your name and city and state of residence along with a brief and descriptive question for Maven. A definite date has not yet been set for the interview but will be no later than March 17, 2004. Look for the interview to be up by Friday, the 19th and be in transcript by the following Friday. Maven would also again like to thank everyone for their love and support. Fans are an integral part of this business and a part of the family of pro wrestling, and your thoughts, prayers, and respect are greatly appreciated. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I still think Maven can be big. Remember when he was being rumored to join Evolution? The crowd was digging him a little. All they need to do is cultivate the guy's skills and KEEP HIM HEALTHY.

All they need to do is cultivate the guy's skills and KEEP HIM HEALTHY. I actually agree. I also think he needs more promo time, as he does have a certain charisma and presence. A less vanilla offense would help as well (though, we all know that's not as important).
Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Well, his moveset could have a chance to improve if he could just stay healthy.

Guest JMA Report post Posted March 13, 2004 They really need to let Maven use his last name. "Maven Huffman" sounds SO much better than "Maven." I'm reminded of Tajiri... "Last name?" "NO RAST NAME!!! JUST 'MAVEN!!!'" Speaking of that...what ever happened to the Torrie/Maven storyline? Weren't they supposed to be dating (yeah right...) in kayfabe? She didn't give him any. So it was dropped without any explanation? I thought so. Man, Torrie's character (?) is a real ho. She's hooked up with David Flair (WHOOOO!), Billy Kidman, all the other Filthy Animals (...), Shane Douglas, Vince McMahon (well, almost), Tajiri, Maven, Dawn Marie, Billy Gunn, Jamie Noble, Nidia, ect. Guest JMA Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Heh...that would be fun little game to play..see who the biggest hos are in wrestling history by who there were affiliated with. I'd say Missy Hyatt and Tammy Sytch take the cake on that (with Missy slightly leading). Keep in mind I'm talking about their CHARACTERS.

You don't say?! I don't think the character falls too far from the person, myself. I would think WWE would be hesitant to push anyone who is injury-prone--but Orton, Batista, and HHH's pushes wouldn't be going on right now if that was true.
