DMann2003 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 I was just thinking if they go with Foley vs Orton one on one at Backlash, giving the storyline it makes sense that the match should be a Respect Match, with the loser forced to announce he respects the winner. Si82 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 Sounds like a pretty good idea to me. Although I want to see a Rock/Flair program after the match at Wrestlemania.
Papacita 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 That'd be cool, but who would win that one? I can't see them ending the program at a PPV like Backlash, but I really can't see Foley going over Orton in a rematch.
Lightning Flik 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 In a respect match, I could see Foley going over Orton, just to turn Orton face. Yes, that would be stupid, but if these guys can't shove him down our throats as a heel, they'll do it as a face.

Yes, that would be stupid, but if these guys can't shove him down our throats as a heel, they'll do it as a face. Hmmm....especially with Orton getting the win over Foley at Mania I could see Foley just beating him down with the mic to his face yelling "SAY IT!" and finally Orton, weeping says I Respect You. And then after the match Foley kind of pulls Orton up and embraces him or something like Orton has been humbled and then Flair and Batista run in and get pissed so Foley and Orton fight them off. That way, Foley gets his win so he doesn't look like a chump, and it elevates Orton in loss because it adds a new layer to his character and he gets the rub from Foley. I highly doubt it would happen but it would be a deep angle if WWE went with it...
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 Gee, I was figuring because Mick doesn't mind jobbing he loses to Orton, reluctantly says he respects him and then Orton, asshole that he is, attacks Foley afterwards, thus making him that much more of a jerk. Gee, I was figuring because Mick doesn't mind jobbing he loses to Orton, reluctantly says he respects him and then Orton, asshole that he is, attacks Foley afterwards, thus making him that much more of a jerk. That program would be great, and while The Rock works through April with Ric Flair, Foley continues the personal feud wth Orton. I'm thinking that Orton should do a surprise Intercontinental Championship-drop before this feud, however, if did happen - it'd give Batista something to do. Chris Benoit VS Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship, Chris Benoit VS Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship, Chris Benoit VS Triple H VS Shawn Michaels for the World Heavyweight Championship, maybe with a Ladder Match stipulation thrown there, maybe even... The Rock VS Chris Benoit for the World Heavyweight Championship, The Rock VS Ric Flair (either scenario could work, considering the WrestleMania match's result, and The Rock maybe not wanting to team up with Foley anymore, breaking it off early before he goes back to filming), Mick Foley VS Randy Orton... A way to end? Anyway, things aren't looking too bad for Backlash so far, but then again, who's to say that any of this will happen?
