Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2004 According to a statement released by the Insane Clown Posse that Bob Magee posted on PWBTS, they, along with Rude Boy and 2 Tuff Tony, have parted ways with NWA-TNA. Link to the statement here.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted March 16, 2004 Good. Maybe the "Juggalos" will finally leave the crowd and quit making decent matches shitty by chanting for Faygo or ICP or other stupid fucking bullshit.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted March 16, 2004 Last I checked, ICP aren't real wrestlers and are basically glorified backyard guys. So why the fuck are they on a PPV where I have to pay $10 to see?

Maybe the "Juggalos" will finally leave the crowd and quit making decent matches shitty by chanting for Faygo or ICP or other stupid fucking bullshit. Yes, now every match can be an empty arena match, since they were the only paying fans TNA has.
Astro101 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 The only thing I liked about them was that they brought in some fans and some noise. Here's hoping that the crowd won't be dead silent again, though, tomorrow.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Considering ICP were the highlights of TNA for quite some time, entertainment-wise (say what you will about their ringwork, but they're pretty damn charismatic and got people coming to see TNA), this is balls. Jingus 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 The regulars in the crowd will be pretty damn happy about this, though. The Juggalos were loud, rude, and started at least one fight every week (which led to security cracking down harder on everybody). ICP might be missed, but their fans won't. Guest Dynamite Kido Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Fuck ICP...they suck ass.....
Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I agree that even if they do suck in the ring, as Corey said, they were always entertaining. It'll be interesting to see the difference in crowd reaction coming up to one of their bigger shows, what with the ladder and title matches. Bah.
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 Bob Ryder said in his column today that the split was amicable and ICP were nothing but professional. I guess they just got rid of them for their new family friendly image.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 The problem with the "Wrestling Reinvented" campaign that I have is that the quality of the show was at its best when the angles were more risque than they were family-friendly, and when the workers were allowed to go 15 minutes and do whatever it took to get the crowd cheering. Now, the workers were told to slow it down, the X-Division is pretty dead (THE CHAMPION HAS NOT DEFENDED THE BELT IN OVER A MONTH), and not a single feud is interesting in the least. It's almost as if Russo's conversion to Christianity took his knack for interesting characters and angles out of him. Also, will the in-ring work suffer? Most family-friendly promotions I know of stick to the basics of professional wrestling (simple holds and reversals, and clearcut heels and faces), and the only one I can think of that I'm entertained by at all is New England Championship Wrestling (and that's because Sheldon Goldberg lets the workers go all-out for the big matches, and their last show on Saturday March 13th featured two *** matches and a well-booked battle royale). The thing that REALLY irks me is the "clearcut heels and faces" part, since wrestling became popular again because heels and faces WEREN'T clearcut anymore. The hero didn't say his prayers and eat his vitamins, and the villain didn't curl their mustache while holding onto the tights. A good heel is hard to come by these days, but there are workers that can be great heels while not having to resort to the Memphis style. In closing, Fuck Dutch Mantel. After watching the X Division DVD, I have to say: That division has fallen off of the face of the Earth when compared to the older stuff. It's a little sad, actually. Sad when Harris v JJ is viewed as being a PPV-worthy ME. I think it beats out Holly v Lesnar for most undeserving PPV ME of the year to date. But, Russo's ability to write entertaining TV was always a debate in and of itself. O don't think he's gotten worse. He's as bad as he ever was. -=Mike
BoboBrazil 0 Report post Posted March 17, 2004 I agree they should go back to hardcore violence like they were doing at their most popular period. I don't see a family friendly product working on ppv, but I guess it will help them get a tv deal maybe. Also it was dumb as fuck for them to make the X division slow down. Whatever though. We'll see where this takes them. Oh and Russo does improve the show. It has already improved quite a bit over what was happening before, or so it appears that way from what I've read. I still haven't seen a TNA since October and have no way to watch it right now even though I'd like to.
Guest Deviant Report post Posted March 18, 2004 Even though I can't see TNA, I am glad to read this news. ICP just annoy me beyond belief. They've been in WWE, WCW and TNA all without doing anything or contributing anything except a few retarded fans in Nashville. This news gets both a woo and hoo from me.
