Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I won $60 in my brothers office pool, so the outcome of Monday's game doesn't really matter. Of course tonight I was swearing at Oklahoma St. or UCONN to win their game.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I thought Gordon was a senior. Seems like he's been there for ages.
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Don't get me started on players who have been there for what seems like ages. Ah hell I think Chris Duhon played with Mike Gminski. Ben Gordon was on the UCONN team that lost to Duke in 1990, with Tate George.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Ben Gordon played with Cliff Robinson, I believe. Toby Bailey was actually at UCLA before John Wooden.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 If Orlando passes up on Okafor, I will STAB them. Shouldn't you wait on them to actually win the draft lottery first? After all, Cleveland was only the first team to finish the season with the worst record in the league and actually get the number one pick since New Jersey in 1990 (Derrick Coleman). Odds are they'll end up with the number three pick, or something...
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 As a fellow GT alum, I'm ecstatic that we're going to finally play for the national championship! I was there the last time we went to the Final Four, and exciting as that was, this is even better! I'm very happy for Coach Hewitt and the kids on the team, and I hope that they do their best! In other news, I look like a genius in my brackets: I participated in two pools, and I'm the only one that had us going to the Final Game in either of them... Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Some great games today.. Both went to the wire... no complaints here... I think UCONN will win it in a nail biter. But I won't be suprised if Ga Tech pulls the upset. Gotta love March Madness... And I have loved some of these passes. Man talk about bullets, I have seen many. One of the better tournies... now we need a nail biter on Mon to complete this great year.
Mr. S£im Citrus 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 If it's close, Tech will win; I don't know how that ESPN poll turned out, but Tech doesn't lose close games. They'll blow us out, or we'll win.

alfdogg 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Question: I'm in three Yahoo leagues for this, I would've joined this one but apparently there is a three limit. Right now, I have 91 points and picked UConn to win the title game, which would give me 123 (and the title in all three of my other leagues) should they win. Would I have had a chance to win this one had I joined? EDIT: I originally said 133.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 Well... Tech beat OSU. And they play UConn All is right in my bracket. And to Damaramu, who said OSU had the only shot to beat Duke or UConn Tech has already beaten both of them...this year. Just remember y'all Any. Given. Night. Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I think Georgia Tech will win Monday. There guards are more psychical than UConn's, and the big Aussie (forgot his name) can at least somewhat hold his own against Okefur.

Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Excellent Point. I don't think Georgia Tech does have an answer to Boone. I'm thinking Georgia Tech can hold enough of an advantage in other areas, so Boone's impact won't be has great.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 5, 2004 i find it amazing that UCONN puts teams in BOTH Title Games...Thats just one fucking great school. Too Bad The guys didn't get a Big name rival to close the season out like Taurasi and the Lady Huskies did with Tennesee.
Stephen Joseph 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 I'd say GTech is one good rival...Connecticut is down one to em right now About the big Australian...or as we say "LUUUUUKKKEEE!" He SUCKED his freshman year, and we all though hewitt was on crack. Now Luke's got a legit shot at the NBA if he keeps improving. Most improved player in the NCAA. It's not just that he's tall, he's got insanely long arms, and takes up most of the paint himself. Get this. His vertical reach, no jumping, is 9"10' All he has to do is hop to slam the ball. GTech doesn't have an answer for Boone. GTech wins if 1) Jack controls the tempo 2) LUKKKEE shows up again

Too Bad The guys didn't get a Big name rival to close the season out like Taurasi and the Lady Huskies did with Tennesee. Yeah but they don't have a good football team and that's the only college sport I really care about. Basketball is just a distraction till football season. At least that's the mentality at OU. Guest Jimbo Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Yeah, that's pretty amazing. However, like UConn, Duke also has a terrific women's team who has had a great deal of success as well with Alana Beard. They haven't won any titles recently though, despite being very good... Anyone else counting down the hours untill tonights big game? I am so excited. I don't care particularly either way for the winner, but I wanna see a great basketball game. UConn definitely deserves the title, but I'm lovin' the underdogs... I also agree that Big Luke will be incredibely important, but I think the true advantage will come between the match up of Jarret Jack and Will Bynum & Co. vs Ben Gordon and Rashaad Anderson. Whoever's guards step up will win the game, IMO. Jarret Jack is only a freshman, but he's a terrific leader and Bynum is one tough, gritty player, but will they be able to out duel Gordon's amazing offensive production? Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 UConn also has that hot chick on there team, I think she's Italian. Ok I'm probably the only one that thinks she's hot. Anyways. The more I watch the end of the OSU game the more questions come to my mind. Such as: -Why did you stick Lucas on him? Lucas was getting lit up everytime he tried to defend. I read that Sutton was thinking about putting Weatherspoon in to cover but decided against it....umm....he should've done that. -And my second thing is this. There are 28 seconds left. You knew they were going to run it down and go for it. Why not wait for about 15 seconds left and foul the guy? He goes to the line......has a good chance of missing. Even if he does make it they're only up by 2, you get the ball back with plenty of time to drive it down court and tie the game leaving them with no time to take the lead and you go to OT. I mean Lucas only had like what? 1 or 2 fouls? Have him just reach out and foul the guy to send him to the line. Just some things I thought were weird. I do hope Sutton makes it to the final four next year. If he doesn't though I sure hope they put him int he Hall of Fame. He deserves to be there.

sfaJack 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 I care. I've just been watching Opening Day games instead. I didn't even turn the NCAA game on until the Astros finished choking (HA!). Baseball >>>>>>>> Basketball
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 I mean I care and all. But Conneticut is having there way with GA Tech. Okafor is just embarassing GA Tech everytime they take it to the hole.
Sandman9000 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 I thought Tech would put up more of a fight. I didn't think that without about 15 minutes to go in the second half, we'd be close to blowout country. UConn established the tempo early on, and Tech hasn't recovered.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Holy shit If this keeps up, UConn will break UNLV's record for championship game margin of victory (30)
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 This is painful to watch. I think OSU would've fared better than this for the love of god.

Damaramu 0 Report post Posted April 6, 2004 Hmmm.......I did not know that. But b/c they're independent aren't they subject to being ignored by the BCS if they do end up going on a great run? Anyways this is a great performance by UConn. They get up high then they slow the game down and GA Tech starts to come back so they turn it back up. They're basically saying "We've beaten you and we can beat you as bad as we want to." Jeez.........*claps*...they definetly deserve this title.
