JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 3 more RAW's until Backlash. So far I think it's a safe bet that: Benoit vs. HBK (world title) Orton vs. Foley Christian vs. Jericho But after that? What the hell is going to be on this card? Victoria vs. Molly again? Flair/Batista vs. Dudleys again? Edge vs. Kane or some other heel? Shelton Benjamin vs. somebody? Any other ideas? DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 It's hard to say now, because there are still pending trades that will be announced at 9pm EST. For all we know, Haas is on his way to Raw as well.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Very true...but if A-Train IS traded to RAW, count me in as a buyer for Backlash!!!!!!!!!
Michrome 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Benoit vs. Shawn Orton vs. Foley Jericho vs. Christian Edge vs. Kane Dudleys vs. Flair/Batista Benjamin vs. Booker T I want to see what the one "major change" left is.
DrVenkman PhD 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2004 Meltzer's hype for next week's Observer says something about a surprise main event. I suppose HBK vs Benoit could have been that surprise, since it was generally accepted that HHH vs Benoit in a singles bout would be the ME.
haVoc 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 How does it look now the trades are final? Benoit Vs HBK Triple H could still make his way into this, or... Triple H Vs Edge No signs of this yet. Edge could get placed with a mid-carder until HHH is ready. Orton Vs Foley Probably Jericho Vs Christian w/Trish probably Hard to guess what other matches without knowing how the newer guys will be treated and/or made over. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Benoit vs. Shawn Orton vs. Foley Jericho vs. Christian Edge vs. Kane Dudleys vs. Flair/Batista Benjamin vs. Booker T I want to see what the one "major change" left is. Are the spoiler tags not working? Because I've got something regarding this that needs spoiling.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 No you don't. There is no spoilers for trades...they were announced on WWE.com. The new SD! GM too. I can't imagine it being a spoiler when you're supposed to know about the moves heading into Smackdown tomorrow. That was the whole point of the midnight deadline. Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Well, then, fuck it. Booker won't be on the Backlash card because he's on SD now. There. I said it.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Anyone super worried about spoilers should not go into threads whose sole purpose is speculating on the future. Of course people are going to post spoilers - why wouldn'you post what you know when people are asking WHATS GOING TO HAPPEN AT THE NEXT PPV? niko
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I'm saying HHH either gets it made into another triple threat or takes out HBK and takes his spot.
Guest nikowwf Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I'd say you are probably right. I'm thinking Edge will get put in a placeholder feud, maybe with Rhyno? (PLEASE NOT KANE PLEASE NOT KANE) niko
Brett Favre 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 What about Edge vs. Ric Flair? That feud could be decent and when he beats Flair he can go after HHH.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I'm expecting them to get some sort of HHH vs. some one else #1 contendership match on the card. HBk vs. Benoit seems set, but I don't think there's anyone really big enough of a star to do a PPV match with HHH. The feud with Edge is supposed to be coming up, but that's supposed to be during the summer, and isn't he going to film his movie and be too busy to appear very often? Maybe they'll give him some sort of excuse to not be on the Backlash show, because it would seem rather odd to leave him off the card without a kayfabe reason. At the very least I'd expect HHH's character to bully Bischoff into some sort of match to get him in line for another title shot. Bischoff and Edge will probably be busy with something this month. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I'd do this... World Title Chris Benoit Vs HBK Street Fight/Falls Count Anywhere Mick Foley Vs Randy Orton World Tag Title Match Evolution Vs Hurricane and Rosey Steel Cage Match Christian Vs Chris Jericho Edge Vs Rhyno *Make up that Rhyno was the one who attacked Edge, which makes perfect sense because he replaced Edge afterall* Shelton Benjamin Vs Lance Storm (Just to put Shelton over) Not sure how to work A-Train, Chuck, Kane into the equation yet
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 Since Kane has done nothing since Mania, I think they're planning on him feuding with one of the former SD guys. Uh oh...it is going to be Kane vs. Edge, isn't it?! Kind of ironic, since in late '02 Kane WAS just a "tall Edge."
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I find it hard to believe that Triple H won't be involved in the title match. Summerslam 2002 was the last PPV with Raw stars to not have Triple H in the World Title match.

Summerslam 2002 was the last PPV with Raw stars to not have Triple H in the World Title match. It has to end somewhere. Perhaps WrestleMania XX was it? "Where It All Begins... Again". A fair go, that is. I think we're talking in terms of when he can't physically step in the ring for when this streak will end. If he indeed is trying to break Flair's record then that pretty much promises he won't be out of the title scene for another few years at the earliest. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 25, 2004 My heart just leapt... Maybe this is all leading to something? I mean, Evolution, Triple H's reign/s. the people that he's dropped the World Heavyweight Championship to were acceptable (or necessary). Triple H facing Ric Flair last year could've been, as well as build for Michaels/Flair... A test. An early test. A test to see how they'd work together. For later, when Triple H breaks Flair's record. After years of build-up, Triple H VS Ric Flair.
Guest hunger4unger Report post Posted March 25, 2004 I predict that the Backlash main event will be Benoit vs HBK vs HHH in a ladder match.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 25, 2004 WWE often has rumours circulate, drop and then return as events. I wouldn't be surprised if Paul worked his way into the Backlash Main Event somehow, but right now, I can see Triple H VS Edge (bear in mind that down here, Raw and SmackDown! aren't shown until Friday and Saturday night, respectively - right now, it's 9:23 PM Thursday night). If the Ladder Match rumours are true, then Triple H VS Edge and Shawn Michaels VS Chris Benoit is the way to go - definitely. It'd fill the card, and, well, make sense. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 26, 2004 U want a ladder match with A) Guy who has a torn ACL B) Recently returning worker from a severe neck injury C) A injury prone mass of muscle D) A Aging injury riddled worker... Wow.

U want a ladder match with A) Guy who has a torn ACL B) Recently returning worker from a severe neck injury C) A injury prone mass of muscle D) A Aging injury riddled worker... Wow. I'm not talking about their problems. The idea is being tossed-around, and I would definitely love to see the match. If an injury were to occur around the time, then I'd obviously much rather call the match off than risk paralysis. But match-wise... it would be the ultimate display of entertainment, passion, athleticism and dedication.

UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Here's my predicted card: 1) 2) Nidia defeats Victoria to win the Women's title after assistance from Molly. * 1/2 3) 4) 5) Chris Jericho over Christian by disqualification. *** 6) Mick Foley defeats Randy Orton by knockout/unconsciousness via Mr. Socko. ** 7) Triple H pins Edge. ** 1/2 8) World Title: Chris Benoit Vs. Shawn Michaels (Ladder Match). Benoit retains. **** 1/4 NOTE THE ABSENCE OF SEVERAL MATCHES...quite frankly, what the fuck can they do? A Tag Title Match...but what teams are left to Flair & Batista to defend against? There are no face teams beside Hurricane & Rosey. I'm sure a new team will be formed. Call that Match #3. Kane needs a match. A-Train, Chuck Palumbo, Matt Hardy, Lance Storm (who has turned, right?), Rhyno, Shelton Benjamin, Tajiri, & Test are the HEELS who could have PPV matches. The faces left??? Uh...Rosey, Hurricane, Val Venis and Tommy Dreamer. SERIOUSLY, this undercard is going to suck ass. They need some faces, and Quickly. Losing RVD, Booker T, Dudleys, etc. seriously hurt the face divison.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted March 26, 2004 I think that WWE have gone for freshness over common sense - but 98% of the fanbase wouldn't give a shit. Having only this time for build-up, as well as having to get new Superstars over, will definitely hurt Backlash.
