DMann2003 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I just got this today, it sounds like an awesome collection, all the videos, alternate takes, live performances, promotional material, in the studio stuff, commentary. And at a damn cheap price too, I'm sure many of you guys have picked this up already.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 24, 2004 I thought about it, but my past with music dvds is not very good. I have a hard time sitting down to focus on them.

Best Buy's got a deal if you buy the DVD with the new deluxe re-issue of the Blue Album (with a 2nd disc of outakes, b-sides, etc) you get 2 bucks off, the CD is on sale for 19.99- Together after tax for me is was around 30 bucks. SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 I already own the Blue Album (have for years now)... what is exactly on the second disc? The same b-sides we've all known for years ("Jamie" etc) or some unheard of stuff?
DMann2003 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 Yes there are regular b-sides (Jamie, Suzanne, etc), I'm not as well versed on Weezer's B-sides, I'd say go to amazon and look at the second disc's tracklist.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 Still sort of tempting though. I've had most of the B-sides on my computer at some point, but not in the best quality.
Myxamatosis 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 Okay, I can finally say that a smartmarks message board thread influenced me to purchase something. I bought the thing and watched it about two times over. Good stuff throughout, but I was left looking for something deeper than just a comprehensive collection of videos and rare live performances. The "making of" portions for The Blue Album and Pinkerton, as well as Rivers walking around in the studio with a MASSIVE beard, are pretty entertaining. The "Outlog" and "How Not To Do An Interview" segments are hilarious. But other than that, I wanted some interviews post-Pinkerton to really find out what was going on in River's head at that time. The feature just kind of skips from 96 to 2000. Plus, the Island In The Sun V. II video is adorable....
Guest justpassingthrough Report post Posted March 25, 2004 With regard to the second disc that comes with the blue album, only 3 of the songs we're not previously availible on the internet. They are a older version of undone, 'I swear its true' full band version, and 'Lullabye for wayne'.

But since it's an official Weezer product, I'm not surprised that they just skip over that whole period Rivers would seemingly love to forget. You'd have to wait for a "Behind the Music" for that one. Still, though, it's weird that they didn't acknowledge in any way when Matt Sharp left and was replaced by that other guy. DMann2003 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 I have a question to those who might know more about the DVD, or know more about the band Is Cuomo on the commentary, I've listened to a few of them already, and I don't hear anyone who sounds like Rivers. It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 He probably is, but seeing the way he acted through the whole DVD, he seems like the quiet, reserved one. He's never the first to answer an interview question, and stuff like that.
