HVilleThugg 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 So, I'm determined to breathe some life back into these boards. So, let's chat... What is your favorite moment in any real wrestling fed (WWE, TNA, WCW, All Japan, whatever)? What moment made watching it all worthwhile? What made you mark out like nobody's business? What made you tear up? What is just the best damn wrestling moment you've every witnessed, either on TV or live? Da "chatty chat chat" H
HVilleThugg 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 I know I'm going to look like a total cheesball for this, but my favorite moment was this past Wrestlemania, when Beniot won the world title. I had so many emotions at once...shock...jubilee, just to name a few. I marked like I had never marked before. On that same show, I also marked for UT coming back as the deadman. I know not a lot of people like the way this was done, but I for one, don't care. I love it...the bong...the druids...paul bearer. I just marked. I didn't care that his hair was still short or that his wrestling attire was still the same...it didn't matter. Because the deadman was back...he could have worn a chicken on his head and I stilli would have marked out. Lastly, I loved just about every Rock/HHH match from their earlier feuds. Their feuds were just amazing and I marked for pretty much everything they did. Da "just to name a few" H
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 Cactus Jack coming back to MSG against Hunter Hearst Helmsley in September 97... from the "3 Faces" promo to build into it, to HHH's reactions, to the final piledriver through the table... I marked out hardcore through the whole thing. As the crowds chanted...so did I.
Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted March 25, 2004 When Jericho beat Triple H on Raw for the title I went crazy. At least until Trips reversed the decision. Benoit winning at Wrestlemania. The DX-Nation impersonation was priceless... "I ain't fakin...You shoulda smelt what the Crock was bakin!" Classic!
Guest PimpDaddySarp Report post Posted March 25, 2004 "You know the Crock just came from the bathroom and whooo...YOU SHOULDA SMELT WHAT THE ROCK WAS COOKIN!" "...and if anyone can smell what the Rock is cookin, it's me...LOOK HOW BIG MY DAMN NOSE IS" "You know, I tried to be a tough guy...but I just couldn't grow my damn beard in!" That whole skit was probably the funniest thing I have ever seen WWF/E do.
TheBostonStrangler 0 Report post Posted March 25, 2004 The WWE/F and WCW have these as my favorite moments: - Mick Foley beating The Rock for the World Title with the Austin interference. Best booking I've seen to this day. - Being there live when Benoit made HHH tap to win the belt. BADASS. - The Angle/Shane McMahon match at KOTR 2001. That match was insanely, insanely badass. I was going nuts after the suplexes through the glass. - Back at one of the Nitros they did at the outdoor site by the pool, when Rey Mysterio got to fight Ric Flair for the title. When he hit the Dragonrana, I thought he had the match won (back in my markish days). To this day, I still hate Arn Anderson for interfering in that match. - When Taker's gong hit at WM XX and the entire entrance that followed. It was still badass, even if it's been a bit underwheling since then. - Eric Bischoff showing up as General Manager of RAW out of the blue. INCREDIBLE surprise. - DDP being revealed as Undertaker's stalker. Sure, that angle went straight to hell, but I marked the fuck out when I saw it was DDP. chirs3 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Probably my all-time favorite moment would be Bret Hart beating Yokozuna for the title at Wrestlemania X. Perfect ending to the PPV with all the faces hoisting him up, and Owen on the ramp staring a hole right through him. PDS named another one of mine - Jericho's phantom title win. Me and my brother let out a simultaneous "What the FUCK?!" when it happened, and we actually started cheering and yelling and carrying on. Then it was reversed. I threw a Dr. Pepper can at the screen in disgust.
Coffin Surfer 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Bossman stealing Big Show's father's corpse. Most likely, the funniest thing I will ever see. It's just so absurd, it's brilliant. I mean, what happened afterwards, did the Bossman just go cruising down the high way, pulling a casket behind him? Hell, the whole Bossman/Big Show fued was great, as well as him killing Al Snow's dog and feeding it to him. Watching Hogan vs. Warrior Wrestlemania 6 live on PPV. Totally insane, jumping up and down excitement from this kid. The post match stuff at 6/3/94 probably moved me more in a dramatic way than any other wrestling releated momemnt in my adult life. The crowd chant changing from "Misawa" to "Kawada", the hand shake, Kawada finally earning the respect he had fought so hard for. The only wrestling moment that came incredibly close to bringing me to tears. 6/9/95. Kawada's revenage on Kobashi and Misawa. Especially the early cheap shots. The classic Misawa and Co. vs. Jumbo and Co. six man tags are loaded with some of my favorite moments: Misawa and Jumbo's first pull apart brawl. Taue and Kawada's pull apart brawl at 4/91, plus the cheap shots that led up to it. Kawada flipping off Fuchi. Kawada and Kobashi taking turns torturing Taue in the Tree of Woe while pointing and laughing at Jumbo.....etc.
Guest Suicide King Report post Posted March 26, 2004 (edited) You can't call yourself a wrestling fan if you didn't cheer when Benoit made HHH tap out, and I may be the biggest HHH mark in the world. That said, one of my favorite markout (such as it was) moments was at the Wrestlemania where I started watching regularly again. HHH (still in DX) was wrestling Kane of the Corporation with Chyna in his corner. Chyna interfered against Kane to let HHH win the match, thus reuniting the two. It seemed that DX was unstoppable. Then after the match X-Pac cut what was quite frankly a killer promo about DX being a family with all the members there, cheering for him in his upcoming Euro title match against Shane McMahon, also of the Corporation. The Euro title match commenced, and Trips and Chyna came out to support their buddy X-Pac... and then turned on him, costing him the Euro Title and throwing their support behind the Corporation. I love double turns, and this one was handled magnificently in my eyes. HHH's heel turn from leader of DX to Corporate contender was the inspiration for my heel turn from face-a-licious Carnie leader to IGNWO super-heel. Rawknight 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Biggest mark out moment, bear in mind i've NEVER really been a mark (I got into wrestling late) was the Dudleys FINALLY putting Tori through a table. In 99 that was fresh, you know. I lept out of my seat and did the testify sign. The biggest Holy Shit moment is still Rhino giving Lori Fullington the off the apron piledriver through a table. It looked like she was broken in half. For high comedy nothing beats that great triad of Edge, Christian and a kazoo. From the world of UFC, Tito flipping off and crotch chopping Shamrock. When Couture made Tito CRY I bet Shamrock was laughing his ass off. And for extra credit... Ms Hancock/Daffney lingerie match. Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Jericho's WWF debut. Jericho's phantom WWF Title win. Benoit, Guerrero, Saturn and Malenko's WWF debut. Foley winning the belt for the first time. DDP revealed as the stalker. Eric Bischoff's WWE debut. The Kurt Angle moonsault from the top of the cage during the Angle/Benoit Raw cage match in 2001. Benoit making HHH tap to win the belt. And though it's a more simplisting thing I've noticed recently, and I'm doing it along with the live crowd just the same, I love how everyone in the arena goes crazy just for the Flair Flop. The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted March 26, 2004 Oh...I forgot to mention "Cane Dewey" ... having just seen it on Foley's DVD, he mentions there (and in his book) that people thought it was the greatest promo of all time.... ...and if it's not the greatest ... it's pretty damn close. oh...and the Raw where Mick Foley did his "shoot" on the WWE as well as the Rock & Steve Austin singing a duet in the ring. Two priceless moments on one show.

Two priceless moments on one show. Was live for this show. Just an amazing show, and I only remember three matches from the entire Raw. One of the most entertaining Raw's WWE ever did. Ace309 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2004 Roddy Piper interfering in Hogan/Vince at WMXIX. Vince is bleeding like a stuck pig. Hogan's being Hogan. And all of a sudden - no internet leak (that I'd seen), no foreshadowing, nothing - just BAM! Piper runs in with a trench coat on, interferes and takes the coat off to reveal the Hot Rod shirt. It had us SCREAMING.

That's sort of like how the audience shouts along Rocky Horror-style while Hogan hulks up now. No-sell. "NO!" No-sell. "NO!" Hogan points. "YOOOOOOOOOOOOU!" And so on. It had us SCREAMING. Yes - i'd forgotten that one. Mania XIX featured two mark-out moments for me: Piper running in with NO warning, and Brock's Shooting Star Press. I'd been waiting for eight months for him to do it, ever since I'd heard he used to use it in OVW. i thought he'd break it out against Rock - and I was wrong. I was silently screaming at my TV when he went up top last year (I was watching this at 4am, so my housemates wouldn't have been pleased if I was ACTUALLY screaming). I don't care if he missed it - the only time I've marked out as hard since was Benoit making HHH tap. Although - That first moment when the LoD's music hit to take on RVD and Kane was awesome. Yeah the match sucked, but those first few seconds... priceless.
5_moves_of_doom 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Most things that Mick Foley ever did, really. Oh, and the end of the Wrestlemania XX, most recently.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted March 28, 2004 Meh...there's so many...most being mentioned already. Foley's bump off the cage and Hardy's extended ladder Swanton stand out as moments where I just thought 'DAYAM...that didn't just happen. Add to that pretty much anything Austin did during the Attitude era...Rock and D-X during the same time...Angle/Austin during the InVasion. And to add to the Benoit one...when Eddie won the WWE Title. Oh...and Eddie versus Malenko, two out of three falls. Awesome, and the reception they got afterwards was moving. Crowe 0 Report post Posted March 29, 2004 My biggest mark out moment was when Raven returned to ECW to save Tommy Dreamer from an attack by the Dudley Boyz. That cheer was honestly the biggest cheer I've heard at any event.
