Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 And of the many lessons learned from this show, I hope this one sticks with Vince: "Hey, Hogan wasn't booked for that show, and it made truckloads of money..." Or because WM XX was hyped for a year like the future of WWE depended on it. I swear I saw commercials for it on all different networks from ESPN to Comedy Central and even during some stations commercials on NBA Season Pass on PPV.

My point is that with planning and hyping things well ahead of time, they already have the people they need to make a profitable Wrestlemania.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 everything...save for Brock's departure and Angle's injury...seems to be going right for WWE right now *Raw DRAFT gets ratings boost *WMXX is a success *Smarks finally accept Bradshaw *24/7 could be good That ratings boost won't mean jack after they totally failed to deliver on Monday.
Guest webmasterofwrestlegame Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 I wish I could travel back in time to a few weeks after WMX-8 and tell everyone here that in the not-so distant future we would be loving Bradshaw's character and Benoit & Eddie Guerrero would be the two biggest stars in the company. I wouldn't say Guerrero and Benoit were the biggest stars in the company - Austin, HHH, and Undertaker to name just a few are bigger stars.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 Wow. WrestleMania XX didn't do too badly after all. Choken One, regarding your cynical analysis of WrestleMania XIX, you're right, but you could do that for a lot of shows. I bet that if the viewers had known what the show would turn out like, it wouldn't've done so well - but I would've paid my $21.90 for Eddy/Kurt and Paul/Michael/Chris alone. Definitely.
KTID Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 wow, u can call wrestlers by their real names. your incredibly cool.
Adam Posted March 26, 2004 Report Posted March 26, 2004 It's an interesting gimmick, the WrestleMania XX in bold and italics, and calling wrestlers by their real names. Sure fire way to piss people off. Good stuff.
Guest Brian Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 Hogan's kicking himself for not getting involved.
Use Your Illusion Posted March 27, 2004 Author Report Posted March 27, 2004 Didn't Hogan *want* to be involved though? It was McMahon who declined. Hogan felt WMXX wouldn't be special without him, in one of the interviews I read about that took place only a few weeks before the big show. It must really irk him that last year's WM, one which he was the focal promotional point, doesn't even come close to this years show, which was headlined by Chris Benoit, Shawn Michaels & Triple H. UYI
Guest Brian Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 I just remember the interview, which was more of a "you need me to make this show".

Sure fire way to piss people off. Good stuff. Not to mention the posting as much as possible, usually with nothing of note being said. Of course, when it comes to that, he isn't the only offender. It's just a pet peeve of mine when it comes to message boards.
Adam Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 ...which we now know as bullshit. Oh, and UYI, is that Axel from Streets of Rage in your sig?
Use Your Illusion Posted March 27, 2004 Author Report Posted March 27, 2004 No, that's SNK's very own franchise player, Terry Bogard. You'll find him in all the Fatal Fury/King of Fighters/SNK vs Capcom games etc. Also, that -IB- dude is an Aussie, Adam. Why can't all Australians who grace this board just be like me? You know you want to. UYI
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted March 27, 2004 Report Posted March 27, 2004 The water in the toilets doesn't flow any specific way - it's just a heap of water.
