Styles Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Looks like it's 4-4 now. Bases loaded, 2 outs. Minn is changing pitchers...
Guest Anglesault Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Did he get anyone out before Gardenhoser yanked him?
Styles Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Wild pitch! Tigers up 5-4! EDIT: Carlos Pena 2 run single, 7-4 Tigers!!! EDIT: Bobby Higginson with a 2 run TRIPLE! 9-4 Tigers! Man, whats in the water cooler in the Detroit clubhouse?
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Can Detroit pull what Minnesota did in 91? From worst to first for those that didn't know.
Styles Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Can Detroit pull what Minnesota did in 91? From worst to first for those that didn't know. I'm feeling the comparisons to the 91 Twins or Braves, 89 Orioles (coming off the worst record in AL history in 88, well until Detroit broke it last year ) going down to literally the last game of the season in a tie for 1st with Toronto that they lost. If there had been a wild card in 89 the O's would have been in the playoffs. And of course the 69 Miracle Mets. Nothing needs to be said there! Tigers do have heart!
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Milwaukee and Detroit in the 2004 WS~
Guest Anglesault Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Can Detroit pull what Minnesota did in 91? From worst to first for those that didn't know. Hush. That's crazy talk.
Bruiser Chong Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 At least the Tigers are actually doing well unlike the bumpkin Cubs, who've faultered early. Since we're only three games into the season, I won't do anything close to panic, but it is annoying to see that the majority of the hitters are displaying zero patience at the plate, which is only working to the advantage of the pitchers. At Clement can be brilliant at times, but I've found him to be pretty lousy the majority of the time, especially if the opposing team has a lot of lefties.
Styles Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Eric Munson just tatooed a homerun. 10-4 Detroit. As the 89 Orioles, with a new pissed off looking bird logo said after their record settingly bad season...Why Not? Extensive (and long) recap of the O's 89 Why Not? season for those that might care: http://www.birdsinthebelfry.com/1989.htm
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Tiger fans get more excitement the first 4 games of the year than all of last year.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I told people Guillen, Vina, White, and Pudge would rejuvinate this club. Not to mention that the AL Central's pitching is craptacular.
HarleyQuinn Posted April 8, 2004 Author Report Posted April 8, 2004 I propose they're all on steroids
Guest Anglesault Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Damnit. I've put enough teams on my radar to have to start worrying about the fucking Miracle Tigers.
Styles Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 And with that, the Tigers are 4-0 and have the best record in baseball. Sports can be strange sometimes...
MarvinisaLunatic Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 The Os should have signed Pudge instead of Javy. He would have helped the Os young pitching staff.
Vern Gagne Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Let's see Radke is a sack of shit Lohse is a sack of shit Silva is a sack of shit Guzman is a sack of shit Blanco flat out has no business being in the majors. Nice job signing a .200 hitter. Fuck the defensive bullshit. Plenty of .270 hitting catchers to back up Mauer.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Watching the Angels try to score in the ninth, down 1-0. No outs, men on first and second.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 no outs...bases loaded. Getting quite exciting, as the Angels try to sweep the Mariners.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Angels take a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth!
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Run scores on a BALK. Woops. 3-1 Angels
The Ghost of bps21 Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 The Angels offense finally shows up in the ninth and they win 5-1.
Mik Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Mike Lowell just homered on the 11th pitch of his at bat to give the Marlins a 1-0 lead on the Expos.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 All the Free Extra innings and I still can't watch Dontrelle Willis. Basically the only Marlins pitcher I find it fun to watch
Mik Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 I love to watch him too, except it was a lot harder in the second half of last year. That being said, he looks good tonight. He's given up a few hits, but I don't think he's gonna surrender much.
Guest FrigidSoul Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Scott Erickson doesn't even throw a pitch for the Mets and he's injured

I don't know..... you might want to consider hitting the panic button when Reds pitching is doing that to your hitters.
