They dealt with Racism, Homosexuality, Death, Hate, Divorce, Drugs, Teen Pregancy, Rape, young marriage, hopes and dreams, Dan's Heart Attack

I am a real person. I never dealt with any of those things.

You are not real.

You are a figment of your own imagination.

Well if a show ever showed what people truly dealt with on a personal everyday level we'd have episodes surrounding...

"what do i want to eat"

"what kind of cereal do i want"

"what's that knocking noise in my engine"

"what's this strange growth on my back"

"i think i need a haircut"

The show that came the closest to showing this was Seinfeld. Of course we'd have to take out all the wild and crazy stuff, since this is based in reality. So it would be like Seinfeld without the entertaining stuff.

Alright, sitcom is situation comedy. Social commentary is not needed. If they want to do those things, and it works, ok, but if it fails like it usually does, I have no sympathy. Comedy is comedy, dealing with issues is for someone else.

Well Roseanne and All in the Family pulled it off. There's probably a reason why I can't recall any that tried it and failed.

Roseanne's failures outweigh it's triumphs. Almost any show you can think of tried it and failed, just not every week. I'm not saying it ruins the show when they do, but I don't think you should say "This sitcom is good because it dealt with all these issues." Probably the most prime example of a show going for the message and fucking it up nearly every single week was Dif'rent Strokes. Fresh Prince got pretty bad about it over the years too.

Wasn't BMW hounded for becoming more serious and less funny? Like Shawn's dad dying and the brother and the drinking and sex and stuff like that in the last 2 or 3 seasons? Family Matters tried it on occassion, like the gang and when Eddie got beat up and when Eddie got harrassed by those cops.

the problem was...It was still a Friday Night show...on the TGIF block...where the show was aimed at Young Kids..(10-16)...a little too serious for that slot.

And an even worse offense then George and Jerry. Why did Drew Carrey land so much hot tail on his show? I understand it's his show and all, but it just came off too unbelievable. Drew would have never gotten a Kate.

Well...Kate and Drew were life long friends...at least that made sense...Life Long Friends fall in love with each other pretty common that it was believeable but Oswald/Kate made NO sense.

Just get involved with indy wrestling. Then you'll be dealing with all of them, every damn night. Well, except for some guy named Dan having a heart attack, that's pretty rare.

What does BMW stand for?

Let's just say that down here in Tennessee, the wrestling scene is like one big happy family... (insert many Southern "family" jokes here).

Jerry was the least funny on the show. Don't get me wrong, I know he's the brains behind the whole thing. But George was the best character.

Well, next to Larry David too.

Jerry's facial expressions and the little stuff he does is soooo damn funny.

"What am I drinking, milk?"

The way he says it is just too funny.

George is the best character though.

And why were the 6 kids on the show the only ones that seemed to be involved in all of the school happenings?

By FAR my biggest pet peeve. Every club, every trip, every activity it's them 6 and usually 1 or 2 stereotypical nerds or jocks. So annoying.

How come on Full House no one EVER stayed mad at anyone for over 20 minutes?

What happened to Lisa on Fresh Prince? I swear she just disappeared. And why did they never mention the marriage of Will's mom to Lisa's dad?
