JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2004 On Velocity this week, the action in the cruiserweight division heats up when a new No. 1 contender for the Cruiserweight Championship will be determined. Don’t miss the Fatal Fourway involving Rey Mysterio, Akio, Billy Kidman and Nunzio, with the winner facing Chavo Guerrero next week on SmackDown! With four high-flyers in the ring at the same time, anything can happen. Who will gain a golden opportunity to make history on SmackDown! next week? Find out on Velocity. Also on Velocity, one of the newer tag teams on the SmackDown! roster, Billy Gunn & Hardcore Holly will be in action. Velocity will also take a look back at SmackDown! when Chavo Guerrero defended the Cruiserweight Championship against Jamie Noble. Don’t miss what was a thrilling match from last week’s SmackDown! Also, the Kurt Angle Great American Award was named on SmackDown! with a surprise winner, and an even more surprising incident after Angle made his announcement. It was a classic SmackDown! moment; don’t miss it on Velocity. All of this and more on Velocity this Saturday night at 10/9 CT on Spike TV. ================================================== The People’s Champion is a very busy man these days as, following his blockbuster match at WrestleMania, The Rock’s latest movie – “Walking Tall” – was released in theaters all throughout the United States to critical acclaim. Guest Coffey Report post Posted April 10, 2004 It's amazing that the cruiserweight wrestlers have to determine whom the number one contender is on Velocity to get a shot at the title on Smackdown instead of determining the number one contender on Smackdown and giving them a shot at the title on PPV. Oh well, I'll watch it because I should be home by then, and I'll be bored. If Akio was replaced with Jamie Noble, I'd be a lot more thrilled about the match. Hopefully someone other than Mysterio will have a chance to win the damn thing. I'll never watch Confidential again. I'm glad it's dead.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 And we're on the air. Recap of 2 weeks ago.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 And we kick things off with Doug Basham vs. Paul London! Go London! Whooooooooooooo!
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Matthews and DeMott are annoying.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Great psychology by London. Basham works the arm, Paul tries a sunset flip, and he can't get him over because of the arm. Of course the announcers are talking about Bradshaw.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Basham wins with his leaping leg lariat thingy. Pretty good match, bad commentary. I really wish Paul would get a push one of these days. He puts on great matches week after week.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 They're going to flash back to Chavo vs. Knoble from Smackdown tonight. I'm sure those guys had a great match (I missed the first hour watching Survivor), but how bad a show is it that they show clips of _that_ on Velocity? At least it ties in with the four corners main event later on. I really wish they made Velocity like Sunday Night Heat circa 98-99. Live half the time, with actual angle development and stuff. Hopefully they'll make it a better show and not just a flash back show once they move it up a few hours.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Promo for Rico and Jackie's Runway Arrival this week on Smackdown. Huh?
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Now we'll got Hardcore Ass vs. Eddie Craven and Russell somebody.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Holly/Gunn win via Alabama slam. I actually don't mind them as a tag team - much better than them each stinking up the singles ranks. And they mesh decently, too.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Basham wins with his leaping leg lariat thingy. Pretty good match, bad commentary. I really wish Paul would get a push one of these days. He puts on great matches week after week. Agreed, and I now would much rather see Doug Basham as a Velocity regular singles wrestler until he gets something that can make him interesting enough for a Smackdown return. I have no use for Danny. I actually don't mind them as a tag team - much better than them each stinking up the singles ranks. Agreed again. Fighting jobbers is all they're useful for. They must be hard up for material if one of the two SD recap segments is used for the Cruiserweight title match. The production crew turned down the Future's squash and the earth-shattering return of Mark Jindrak?
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Recap of the whole Eddie/Bradshaw angle from last week. The writing for Smackdown right now is really, really bad. Hopefully they take notice of the ratings going down the crapper.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Promo for Rico and Jackie's Runway Arrival this week on Smackdown. I missed it, what the fuck was that? And so the first of the last four Confidential episodes starts in a bit, God I for one will miss the show.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 There's officially only 4 Confidential left? I really hope their new show isn't just another recap show. Uggh.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I'm surprised they used an entire recap segment on Chavo/Noble instead of Booker turning on RVD. Booker vs. RVD was, you know...announced for Smackdown and all, and they need all the ratings help they can get.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Rey vs. Nunzio vs. Akio vs. Kidman - winner is cruiserweight #1 contender.

JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Pretty weird to heat Josh reference the Flying Elvises from TNA. No kidding. I wasn't expecting that. Maybe they're about to sign Sonny Siaki.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Pretty weird to heat Josh reference the Flying Elvises from TNA. No kidding. I wasn't expecting that. Maybe they're about to sign Sonny Siaki. Solid match so far...Kidman with a splash.
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I always laugh at the piped in crowd reactions on Velocity. A guy will hit a Russian leg sweep and you'll hear the "fans" go "OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Tawren 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 OHHH REY GOT SERVED! Nice dropkick by Kidman!
JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Good match. 619 by Rey to Kidman, Kidman hits a facejam on Nunzio. Akio takes out Kidman. Rey dives onto them. Nunzio misses a pescado. Cool sunset flip spot with Kidman/Akio/Rey. Great dropkick to a leaping Rey by Kidman. He goes up for the Shooting Star, but Akio crotches him. Akio and Rey dumped to the floor. Nunzio comes in and DDTs Kidman off the top for the win!!!! Great match...but Nunzio as #1 contender?
Tawren 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 And Nunzio wins. Fun stuff there.
