Garth 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 The Crow - Not Seen Evil Dead - Not Seen Wait...wait wait WAIT... How have you NOT seen these movies?! Watch them both RIGHT FUCKING NOW, mister! I'm sorry sir. I will get straight on it. I did only buy them both yesterday and with today being Easter and all i've been out visiting family today, was the shits only thing that made it bare able was the 1 of the wrestling channel i got to watch while i was out. So ok, its between the crow and evil dead but its 12:30 here in ye olde England so i don't think theres allot of hope in me watching both of them tonight, so which is better of the two? The Crow right?
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 I also bought the Evil Dead this week and, after first watching Stand By Me (cinematic goodness!), I watched it (hadn't seen it in about 6 years) and I will honestly say it's a better film in my opinion than the Crow. It's just great, unrelenting fun and violence and Bruce Campbell is a king amongst men.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 11, 2004 Evil Dead it is then, I'll come back later and post my thoughts on it.
Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 12, 2004 You've never seen Apocalypse Now?! Watch that... Two of my top 5's are on your list, Clockwork Orange and Apocalypse Now. Either one would do just fine.
Mole 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I would have gone with The Crow.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Evil Dead, The Crow, Clockwork Orange, Apocalypse Redux in that order.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Both The Crow and Apocalypse Now are a bit overrated. Definitely worth your time and money, however.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Finished watching evil dead, awesome, awesome film. Thought i was going to be underwhelmed due to hearing so many good things from people about it, definatly lived up to the hype people have given it.
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 12, 2004 If you liked Evil Dead, you should definitely check out Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Yeah, i'll most likely do that, i've just researched how much it would cost me to pick up parts 2 and 3 over here and it would be cheaper for me to just buy the trilogy with 4 discs than to buy 2 and 3 seperately. Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 12, 2004 A four-disc set? That's pretty cool. Does the set have any extras that aren't available on the Region 1 releases of the movies?
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Not sure, i can post all the extras for you though - Special Features Evil Dead: Audio commentary by writer/director Sam Raimi and producer Robert Tapert Audio commentary by star Bruce Campbell biographies of Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Robert Tapert 'Fanalysis': a documentary by Bruce Campbell (26 mins) 'Discovering The Evil Dead' featurette Deleted scenes Outtakes Stills gallery Theatrical trailer TV spots Easter Egg (hidden feature) Evil Dead 2: Audio commentary by Sam Raimi, Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell 'Making Of' featurette Trailer Evil Dead 3 - Army Of Darkness: Audio commentary by director Sam Raimi, star Bruce Campbell and writer Ivan Raimi Additional footage (15 mins) including the original ending Previously unseen deleted scenes Storyboards Bonus Disc: Sam Raimi interview from 'The Incredibly Strange Film Show' 'The Living Love The Dead' featurette 'Dead Good Marketing': an all-new featurette that examines the UK advertising campaigns for 'Evil Dead' and 'Evil Dead 2' 'Bruce Campbell: Geek or God?': an all-new featurette that examines the continuing appeal of the charming 'Evil Dead' superstar, Bruce Campbell 'Antihero' - Stravinsky Gave Me Nightmares music video inspired by 'Evil Dead' Gallery of decay The set would cost me £17.99 which is about $32 if i bought them seperatly it would of been £ 11.99 or $21 for part 2 and £14.99/$27 for part 3, crazy stuff when i can get the box set for that price. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 12, 2004 While it's probably too late... If you haven't seen it, watch Apocalypse Now. *Avoids very easy joke*
Guest Askewniverse Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Yeah, I'd definitely pick up the box set instead. There's no reason to buy the movies separately, because AOD alone is nearly the same price as the set. By the way, thanks for the extras list. I could be wrong, but I think most of the extras on Disc 4 weren't released over here. That's too bad, because some of those extras seem pretty cool.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I definatly wanna check out Apocalypse Now as recently for a college assignment i read the book that the film was based off of so i think it would be quite good to see how it was interpreted in this film.
Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Apocalypse Now - Not Seen Watch that! NOW! Please.... If you have a young sister, let her watch A Clockwork Orange, and see the look on her face!

Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I believe its about 2 hours and 40 minutes, unless you have the redux. I believ that is around 3 and a half hours.
Garth 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Yeah i have Redux but i don't think theres anyway i'm gonna stay up till 3.30 am, might watch it during the day tommorow then.
Jebus 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 Apocalypse Now is great but the redux edition is the most useless directors cut ever...bigger isn't better here.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 You think that's bad, try the five hour workprint.
