1234-5678 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Anyone else watching this? It's 4 episodes in, and is a very good show. Keith Carradine as Wild Bill Hickok and Timothy Olymphant as Seth Bullock are both great characters, and Ian McShane playing Al Swearangen is one of the best "heels" I have ever seen on television. OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I haven't seen this week's episode yet but taped it. I am totally into this show and am totally into all the characters. Al is a great heel, they have good faces, Hickock is an awesome tweener. I even like that butch lady that swears all the time. A great 2 hour block of tv with it coming on right after The Sopranos. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 Be sure to post your thoughts after you watch it. Probably the best episode so far.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted April 12, 2004 I've meant to give this a try, but I haven't gotten around to it yet. I can watch them on HBO on demand, but I'd have to watch them all before I come back to the thread. You might see me again later.
OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 HOLY SHIT!!! WTF???!!! I cannot believe they killed off one of the most over characters only 4 episodes in. That should have been held til the season finale. Otherwise a great episode.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 13, 2004 I even like that butch lady that swears all the time. Butch Lady = Calamity Jane who is another one of those famous boomtown legends like Doc Holiday and Buffalo Bill. I really want to get into the history of this era for some reason. Saw the first three episodes on tape this Sunday (I don't have HBO but my dad taped it for me) and I love it. Al really stands out in my eyes as the complete bastard that everyone is scared of except for Seth as the two men just piss each other off by being in the same room. Good stuff... OldSchoolWrestling 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 And the whole town sold it so well. You could tell by the looks on everyone's faces, even those who knew something had happened yet still hadn't found out what yet, that this was the one person in town that was supposed to be off limits to be fucking with. 1234-5678 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 The show is gonna rest on the shoulders of Bullock and Swearangen now. I think that's good enough, Al as the Super Heel of the town rules.
Sass 0 Report post Posted April 13, 2004 They had to kill Bill in this episode. The show is trying to follow the actual "history" of the characters.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I did not see that coming. I had seen the first two eps, and had the last two on tape so I avoided this thread until I watched them last night. Holy crap...this is my new favorite show on TV (and this time...FOX can't cancel it!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHA)
