lets not forget, when the Yankees aquired Giambi, he was probably in the Top 3 in the league overall, if not that, then definately Top 5.....and it took his ass 2 full years to start putting up numbers like he did in Oakland.

Giambi's decline has more to do with age than anything. In 2002, his first year with the Yankees, Giambi finished 3rd in the AL in OPS. Third in OBP, fourth in slugging.

 

Contrary to popular opinion, Giambi was quite good last year, his power struggled, but he finished 7th in OPS, 3rd in OBP, first in walks, and first in HBP.

Oh, Giambi's biggest asset to the team is his on base percentage right now.

No. He's on base fairly consistantly so far this year, and if the team didn't suck, it might mean something for us. But that's not Jason's fault.
