Sportscenter showed the Strike Zone digitally during yesterday's Cubs game, and they WERE strikes, as us Cubs fans and probably some Reds fans in hiding knew all along. We should be half a game back in the standings now, but instead we're down to third due to this idiocy.

Hey, what do you expect? The umps have been just horrid all weekend in this series. Unfortunately, we've still got two to play before it's over.

Holy fuck.  Wagner is a fucking monster.

You aren't just now finding this out, are you? That was one trade I was ecstatic to see happen because it got Wags the hell out of the Central.

I've known. Go back in the archives of posts and you'll find my praise of the deal. But its one thing to read up on a pitcher, and another to see it in person. In Philly we're used to seeing Jose Mesa. He'd come in. Throw the ball. Maybe its a strike, maybe not. If we were lucky, he wouldn't blow it and the Phillies would win. Wagner comes in, no nonsense. 100 fucking MPH. And STRIKES. The fans aren't watching Wagner. They're watching the scoreboard to see if its 100 MPH, or merely 99. The opposing batters don't have a damn chance. I love it.

That why I like Braden Looper as the Mets' closer now. No nonsense. It definetely beats Benitez and Franco. Now for the rest of that horrific bullpen.

Hang on....bwahahahahaha. Are you serious? I'm sorry, but you just wait. By the end of the year, you'll be overcome with a sinking feeling whenever Braden Looper enters a game. Trust me, I know all too well.

The Athletics have gotten off to a surprisingly good start this season, winning each of their first three series. They have split their first two games with the Angels, who rallied for a 6-3 victory on Saturday.

When will this idiocy stop? Surprisingly?

Well yeah, The A's aren't known for being good starters...That has been their idenity...Slow starters who seemingly purposely digs themselfs a hole and has a incredible second half and make the Playoffs...

It can be justified as a SURPRISING start because it's out of their usual realm as far as starting a season is concerned.

ESPN logic: A's lost Tejada, Angels signed Vlad = A's bad, Angels good.

It was probably written by John Kruk.

Edit: Also the Angels rallied to win? They were down 1-0 in the 2nd inning! Wow what a rally.

And it begins.

Well, Kevin Brown goes Monday.

Lowe looks brutal today.

Of course, so do my Yankees, with Contreras giving up a ton of hits, Jeter not hustling to second and Enrique Wilson in general, but maybe we can do SOMETHING today.

Lowe hasn't pitched since April 7th. He's going to be rusty

like what?

Blow countless walks, make ridiculous errors, hit .205 with RISP and just in general be Enrique Wilson.

You know, what they've been doing anyway.

Well, Damon has made three stupid moves in two days.

Looks like it's time to cut the hair so he can see and hear better. Oh well. ;)

Well, Brad Penny was in a groove in Atlanta, but he gave up a 2 out HR to Andruw Jones and things just went downhill from there. Currently 2-0 Braves with the bases loaded. Pitching change now. Hopefully Chad Fox can get out of this or the sweep is all but complete.

Fox gets the K. Still need to wake up the offense. Wasted Luis Castillo's lead off triple last inning.

That's so...Yankee.

The Orioles have broken open another game on the Blue Jays, jumping ahead 5-0 in the Top of the 8th.

Baltimore continues to hit the ball very well and pitch strong enough to win some games. If they can continue to play like this, maybe they can sneak into the Wild Card race.

Erik Dubose looks on his way to his first win of the season after a very good start. Matt Riley remains the most impressive in the staff so far.

Matos has just singled home another run so it is 6-0 in the Top of the 8th.

Right now its not a difficult task to beat up on the Blue Jays

Derek Lowe is awful today.

2-1 Yanks, 2nd and 3rd no out. We NEED to get a bunch of runs today, for my mental health.

4-1 Yankees. Either Lowe has nothing, or this lineup is finally moving.

12 days inbetween starts will do that to him. Still, with 50 year old Contreras on the mound the Sox can come back.

To be honest Lowe should have pitched in the extra innings affair with Baltimore since sinker ballers need to get regular work in.

Sosa jacked his second home run of the game and the Reds and Cubs are all tied up 3-3.

Considering Maddux has looked like crap lately, the score won't hold up.

NO! COME BACK LOWE! K-ROD IS UP!

Of course they can come back. Hopefuly not, but I'm not fully confident in the team.

Just a friendly reminder that the O's are entering the 9th inning leading the Jays

6-0, just 3 outs away of moving 1/2 game above Boston for sole possesion of the AL East. That is all.

And Roger Clemens gets an RBI single. Whoa. Second of his career, and he's now 2/6 as an Astro at the plate.

Hmmm...better batting average than A-Rod...look out.
