Grand Master Sexay returns to WWE

"Earlier tonight on Raw, Brian Lawler, aka Grand Master Sexay, made his return to WWE television. There has been talk going back to WrestleMania XX that Lawler might make a return to the company. He was seen during that weekend at the hotel where the company was staying.

 

Lawler was fired from the company back in 2001 after being arrested in the Calgary International Airport for possession of illegal drugs. Canadian authorities found in his possession one tenth of a gram of marijuana, one tenth of a gram of methamphetamine, and a half a gram of cocaine. He later plead guilty to the charge of cocaine possession with the other charges being dropped. He was ordered to pay a fine and make a donation of $500 to the Adolescent Drug and Alcohol Program.

 

As was previously posted on the site, a reader had sent us an e-mail about a conversation he had with Lawler on Sunday at the Chicago O'Haire Airport where he confirmed that he had reached an agreement with WWE. Tonight on Raw, Lawler returned to his former character Grand Master Sexay and was beaten by Kane."

I don't see why he didn't just go to Smackdown...re-establish the true TWO COOL team but as heels instead...ship 'Kishi over to Raw and hook him up with Rosey as Samoan Swat style team...and send Hurricane back to Raw as well as a straight up trade.

The reason he didn't go to SD!, was because of his drug arrest. He's going to spend the next 3-4 months as Spike Dudley's relacement; ie, job to anyone, everyone, and the mop.

I'm still in mark mode, but I was glad (and pleasently surprised) to see grandmaster Sexay back. I just hope Too Cool reforms on Smackdown via a trade.

 

BTW, I'll wait for people to call him a TNA-outcast.

Nice to know the WWF is going to go the tired stale route with him. Hopefully they get a clue and look at what TNA did with him on their early shows where he was actually interesting as a character.

Well he DOES get the crowd into his matches, something the green wrestlers like Jindrka & Cade should do since they couldn't buy heat at this point.

Speaking of that, what the hell has Kanyon been up to lately? I haven't seen him on TNA yet, nor have I read anything about him working in other indy promotions.

Thats the best point. Usually I'd be like "eh...I don't want so-and-so to return" when I read about it weeks ahead. This was just a "WTF" shock sinc eI thought he burned his bridges with WWF/E.

He's Lawler's kid. What do you expect? Lawler is probably the only guy on the show with more real backstage muscle than Triple H.

Yeah, cuz Lawler is Heavyweight Championship material. The WWE would be foolish to not push him.

Last think I heard was that he retired from wrestling, but I could be wrong.

 

Jerry's kid's return was a surprise in the same way the Road Warriors' returns were a surprise, as in it was shocking that they were back and then two seconds later you ask yourself why are they back. While Brian Lawler's drug charges were questionable and I don't think he has a history of it (I could be wrong), during his final days he was stale to begin with (trying to form a team with Steve Blackman) and he really hasn't shown a lot of improvement. There are a lot of other guys much more talented, or at the very least haven't been given a chance, that aren't in the WWE. So why Lawler?

 

And i think the bigger question is, why Lawler on Raw just so he can job to Kane?

I haven't watched RAW in several weeks, but WOW...this thread caught my attention upon entering the WWE forum...

 

I've always thought Brian was underrated. He's a really solid worker, IMO. He's got a great look and gimmick and of course lots of charisma. I think people are unfair about his workrate, though. He's SO much better than Scotty 2 Hotty.

 

Jesus, speaking of Scotty...where the hell is Scotty these days? I remember he was on TV like two months ago. Has he been on since then?

I agree with many here that he should go the TNA route for his return, in the middle of his intro just stop dancing grab the mic and say I am Not gonna do this SH## then acknowledge Jerry as his Dad and go all Heel on him then attack him. Setting up of course...Lawler vs lawler

I've always liked Brian, and figured it'd only be a matter of time before he was back with the company, but I think it was a pretty dumb move to bring him over to Raw...at least if they have any intention of keeping him as a singles competitor.

 

I really don't understand their logic here. They've got a shortage of tag teams on both brands, and Too Cool was one of the more popular, recognizable teams around when the WWE was at its peak, so wouldn't common sense say to bring him and Scotty back together so that they can add another credible team to the roster? And it's not like Brian was ever really worth anything as a singles competitor, and chances are he'll be stuck spinning his wheels with the likes of Hurricane and the rest on Raw anyway. If they're gonna bring him back, at least make good use of him.

I think the quick job to Kane was a "Remember your position in the company" way, so he doesn't think he can get away with posession of drugs or anything like that that can cost him his job. I gurantee he gets traded to Smackdown soon, probably for someone like ORLANDO JORDAN~!

I was rather surprised when I read that he had returned but happy at the same time. I was always a Sexay/Too Cool Mark.

 

Like most people though, I don't understand the reasoning behind putting him on Raw. They have should have put him on Smackdown and re-teamed him with Scotty.

I think the only way they'll get good mileage out of Christopher is to copy word for word his first heel promo from TNA followed by a beatdown of the old man. Set up them at the PPV where Christopher totally destroys Lawler and then ship him to Smackdown where they'd need a decent heel.
