Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I personally think Smackdown is still a bit better but not by much. You've got to be kidding, right? Yeah, I agree BBCW, but I'd still watch the show, despite how bad it sounded.
jester 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Eddie's problem is that he has no good heels to play off of. If there was a good and hot main-event level heel on Smackdown, then it woud be so much more watchable. Diabiase Lite just doesn't cut it.
Guest JericholicEdgeHead Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I don't know why there should be two seperate brands anymore anyways. I mean they really don't do anything with: Billy Kidman, Funaki, Hardcore Holly, Billy Gunn, Johnny Stamboli, Orlando Jordan, Paul London, Rico, Shannon Moore, Ultimo Dragon, Chuck Palumbo, Garrison Cade, Jon Heidenreich, Lance Storm, Matt Hardy, Rhyno, Scott Steiner, Rodney Mack, Rosey, Huricane, Steven Richards, Test, Tommy Dreamer, Ivory, Jacquline, & Val Venis. None of the talent above are ever in a high profile feud or ANY feud for that matter, so what is the point of WWE keeping them?? None have made any major PPV matches except for Holly's short feud with Brock, none of the above are used to their fullest because "creative" has nothing for them. Which is a damn shame with a few of them. Why should WWE keep them, just to have 2 seperate rosters and make one of their shows unwatchable?? No sense in making one show better (RAW) than the other (Smackdown) which they are clearly doing.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 14, 2004 You're right, there is so much talent going to waste in this company. And yes, Eddy does seem on his own on SmackDown!.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Why watch Smackdown when you know it sucks? Thats wasting 2 hours of your life just because you think you have to.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Well, because I do a weekly commentary, I'm dedicated and it's an hour and a half here, even if it always does go ten minutes overtime.
Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Personally, I think everything went to shit in October 2003, when the Bashams got the tag belts. Even during some REALLY bad World title and main event storylines, the tag belts and tag champions and all their matches were keeping SD!'s head above water. And then they give the belts to the most heatless, boring tag team in the company and watch them destroy everything Angle/Benoit, Edge/Rey, Los Guerreros, WGTT and Eddy/Tajiri did for those belts. While part of the problem may have been the Bashams having no heat, the other part was they didn't involve them in any feuds. The had a quick feud w/ Eddy & Chavo, but it was only a backdrop to Eddy & Chavo splitting up to feud. After that, the Bashams didn't have 1 single feud. Maybe if they put them in a feud w/ a couple teams, they could have garnered some heat. Sure, they didn't exactly help themselves, but it's not like creative gave them any feuds to work with. Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 And Tazz has gotta go. He's not awful when he's calling a match. But sometimes he'll just hit a new topic out of nowhere and run with it forever.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I personally think Smackdown is still a bit better but not by much. Your not alone. Raw only loses for me though because the amount of ppl on it I could never stand or just can't stand anymore.Hurricane/Rosey,Coach,JR/King,Orton,Foley, and the women's division and more. The only bright spot to me seems to be bischoff and the main event situation that is becoming overdone. Smackdown has it's problems too they just don't bother me as much. Crippler Crossface 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 My, how a month and a half can change everything... I gave up WWE for Lent, only to return and find Raw is now awesome and SD! is degenerating into garbage. I'd have to say Benoit's move was the first strike against Smackdown, then followed by Lesnar's departure and Angle's move to the GM spot. Plus, with the spoilers from this week... God, I'm wondering if Vince is writing SD! by himself now just so he can laugh at the stupidity of it...

And who would you replace him with? I don't know...but I think it was durring the Johnny the Bull/Spike match. He'd break into this dumbass song twice for no reason, just singing "I'm ah Itilian guuuyy." And I'm just sitting there thinking "what the fuck is this for?!" Or it might have been Dupre and the "I'm ah French guuuyy" song
Guest Adrian 3:16 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 And Tazz has gotta go. He's not awful when he's calling a match. But sometimes he'll just hit a new topic out of nowhere and run with it forever. I like Tazz, I'd say he's the least of Smackdown's problems. In fact I'd love an announce team of Tazz (face) and Raven (heel), but that's not happening for obvious reasons. Anyway, my cliched answer for a solution to this Smackdown situation would be to end the brand split, but I've been saying that since the beginning. Its funny, the only time I enjoyed it was at Mania when we had Eddie and Benoit as the 2 world champions. Other than that, its been useless. People say "without it people like Brock and Cena and Shelton would never have gotten pushed!" Wrong. If they decide they want to push you, they'll push you. More new faces got pushed BEFORE the brand split. Or they'll say, "but without the split, we won't get to see Hurricane and Chavo and Kidman and Jindrak and Cade and Akio and the Bashams and Storm and so on and so on on TV!" And I say... GOOD. These people are BORING. Combine most of the Raw roster, add in Eddie, Angle, Cena, Show, Mysterio, Book, RVD, and maybe a freshened up Dudleyz (no Spike) and NOW you got yourself a nice lineup.
