The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Barry Bonds passed Willie Mays to be 3rd all time. um... so... well ESPN made me THINK it warranted the hype. Whoops?
Guest Smues Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Yay now I won't be able to watch ESPN for 3 days, or listen to espn radio, or go to mlb.com etc etc. Fuck you Barry Bonds. That is all.
Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 And hopefully we can return to our reguarly scheduled program, instead of cutting to Bonds everytime he wipes his nose. Congrats to him, though, although I'm a bit apathetic, since this is obviously tainted.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I think it would be funny if Bonds got stuck on #666 and ESPN did a #667 watch.. err..maybe not.. just 39 homers from 700 and 54 from 715...its possible he could pass Ruth this year which would mean ESPN would go into BONDS 24/7 mode in September.. STAY TUNED!
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I wish Barry Bonds was in MVP Baseball so I could hit him with the pitch at every at-bat. Now I have to settle for beaning Giambi. Thanks a lot EA Sports.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 He's in the game. Just edit John Dowd, of the San Francisco Giants.
MarvinisaLunatic 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 You know whats ashame now..the Giants don't play the Yankees (they play all the other AL East Teams, including at Baltimore) in interleague this year.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I wish Barry Bonds was in MVP Baseball so I could hit him with the pitch at every at-bat. Now I have to settle for beaning Giambi. Thanks a lot EA Sports. It's not EA Sports' fault... he's not apart of the MLB Player Association. Plus, that's I prefer the PC version. You can download excellent rosters, load them & start your Dynasty.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I did them all myself. Its more fun that way.
Guest Flyboy Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I did them all myself. Its more fun that way. Not if you're not that knowledgeable about baseball.
EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I'd like to point out that there are now three threads devoted to bitching about the oversaturation of Barry Bonds. Think about that.
Bored 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I completely avoided ESPN these past two days as their Bonds coverage was getting sickening already over the weekend. I really want to see the ratings for these Bonds' break-ins they do and see if it truly brings in viewers. It seems to turning more viewers off than anything. This is the type of coverage I'd expect, and would accept, if Bonds were going for 755 and 756.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I for one, can't blame ESPN. I know I have been waiting all year for 661*
Vern Gagne 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Bonds is know in sacred ground. For how many years have Aaron, Ruth, and Mays been mentioned in the same breath? Been nearly 100 HR's ahead of the 4th place on the HR list? Bonds not only joined the super elite 600 HR's, he know passed One of the Big 3.
nl5xsk1 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I can almost understand them hyping up him passing Mays for 3rd all-time. (And I barely mean the almost ... if you're not reaching #2 or #1, then it's really barely worth getting a boner about.) But why did they make a big deal about him TYING Mays?? Tying for 3rd all-time is even less exciting than passing into 3rd place.
Slayer 0 Report post Posted April 14, 2004 I missed both 660 and 661, both the actual event and any replay of such And I could not give a shit less
Guest Salacious Crumb Report post Posted April 14, 2004 Man, everytime I turned on Sportscenter today it was about Bonds. Seriously.... did he get almost 40 minutes of the hour?
