kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 Nice. All these shows took place when I was not in an area that had Comedy Central. Although what is up with the mini-commentaries? I hate those -- if there are any two people that I want to go on rambling on a DVD commentary it's Matt and Trey...
yankovic fan 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 I have a lot of those episodes on them DVDs I bought at Sam Goody. You know the ones with four episodes each. I'll just sell em I guess. But yeah, I'm stoked for this set. I used to have a bootleg of the shorts you mentioned and a bunch of other South Park stuff, but I lent it to someone a year ago and he sort of disappeared. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted April 15, 2004 The NAMBLA one is pretty hilarious.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted April 15, 2004 The box art is purple, with the kids dressed in their FINGERBANG costumes. I can't wait to see "Pip" again. I caught it the first time it aired and never saw it again. What a weird episode.
moral suasion 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 "Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?" and "Probably" are the two part episodes. Great, great stuff. The very last moment of "Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?" is awesome.

Guest Ray Report post Posted April 16, 2004 along with mini commentaries by creators Matt Stone and Trey Parker on every episode. Will those lazy bastards ever do full comentaries?! Aside from that, this looks great. Some damn fine episodes there.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 They don't do full commentaries because they hate listening to a DVD commentary featuring directors who say all they have to say, then sit there in silence for much of the commentary track. While I wish they'd be a LITTLE bit longer, I still like the way they do them. And yes, season four is awesome. If I remember correctly, the only episode I'm not a fan of is Chef Goes Nanners. Mole 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Isn't this the season where they started going full swing and had awesome episodes every week?
moral suasion 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 If I remember correctly, the only episode I'm not a fan of is Chef Goes Nanners. I like that episode. The commentary on racism is interesting but the best stuff is the crush between Catman and Wendy. The very last moment of the episode is a very cool character development moment for Cartman. I think it is the only South Park episode that ends on a completely sad note.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Isn't this the season where they started going full swing and had awesome episodes every week? In my book it is -- there was some great social commentary this season (Is the "nanners" episode the one with the South Park flag?)...
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 16, 2004 That's a great season. I swear, in The Tooth Fairy Tats 2000, I just cracked up right at the end.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Awww yeah. And plus there's TRAPPER KEEPER. God, what an awesome season. But why the mini-commentaries? If you can't find anything to talk about regarding the show, just start making fun of people or something damnit...
chaosrage 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 "Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?" and "Probably" are the two part episodes. Great, great stuff. The very last moment of "Do the Handicapped Go to Hell?" is awesome. I like how the mormons were right and everyone else went to hell. This is the season that SP went from just good to best show on Earth.
moral suasion 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 This is the season that SP went from just good to best show on Earth. Completely agree. If I were to rank the seasons: 1. Season 5 2. Season 6 3. Season 4 4. Season 7 5. Season 3 6. Season 2 7. Season 1 8. Season 8 (First 5 episodes.)
Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 I've been waiting for this. This has got to be the best all-around seaon the show's ever had. Trapper Keeper is one of my favorite episodes, ranking right up there with Towelie. "That thing has Rosie O'Donnell!" "But which one is her? I can't tell!" I also love the Helen Keller episode, if only for Gobbles(~!) and the glimpse into Cartman's mind.
Skywarp! 0 Report post Posted April 16, 2004 Yeah, South Park only seems to get better as it goes on. Season 2 bores me, though.

Don't get me wrong, I still watch them religiously, and they are still funny, but the quality has gone down. The stories are not told as well. They are less arcing and dramatic. Cartman's character has really degraded. He used to be the antagonist, but I still cared for him, now is just used as a litte evil fuck who is annoying. Yes, he's funny, but he is extremely inconsistant as a character. I have apprecitaed the development of the Cartman vs. Kyle fued but it has not gone anywhere. Its completely stagnant. I also have liked the development of Butters as a main character. What was the point of bringing Kenny back? He does not do anything. He used to be an awesome character, but now never says a word. Unless he does cool things in the future, he should have stayed dead. It would have made the episode where he really died more epic and historical.

He should've stayed dead, he doesn't bring anything to the show. But people kept bitching for some reason and they wanted him back. I love Cartman's character. He's an evil genius. How can you say Cartman vs Kyle hasn't gone anywhere? He tried to kill off Kyle's whole race 2 weeks ago, heh. So far imo all 5 episodes have been pretty good while the one with special olympics and this week's are 2 of the best ever. How can you not like the season that gave you.. and
