Adobe Illustrator

Recommended Posts

Hey,

I would really like to learn how to use Adobe Illustrator. I have a Wacom tablet, and Illustrator 10 at my disposal. Basically I'd just like to be able to sit down and draw like I would with a pen and paper.

Is this possible? What tool should I use? When I use the pencil tool and sketch, it tries to morph my shapes together and it's just not good.

I haven't really found any web tutorials that have been very helpful for me, so I thought I'd just come out and ask.

It should be possible. Try looking up tutorials for how to use the tablet or getting one of the Illustrator project guide books. I remember seeing many people using the tablets and Illustrator in my college's computer art lab and being jealous of all the fun they looked like they were having.

I just looked at Wacom's website and found the settings you need to uncheck to allow you to just draw in illustrator without it trying to join lines and shapes together. Sweet.

What are you, Rip, some kind of Graphic ART-IST?...

I am a computer animator and graphic artist.

Yet I work in defective parts at Hewlett Packard...

...

What the fuck happened?

I often draw and then scan. I just like to play around sometimes and experiment with different ways of drawing stuff.
