This has just been posted on wwe.com

After months of negotiations, the WWE and Steve Austin have been unable to come to terms on a new contract and as a result have mutually agreed to part company.

Both parties have left the door open to work together again in the future and the WWE wishes Steve the very best in his future endeavors.

Damn, he actually left, didn't think he'd actually leave again, oh well i'm happy with that no more stunners left, right and centre keeping the mid card in their place.

That would be cool if TNA did bring him in, would definatly bring in the casual fan. But could they afford it, and would Austin want to work for TNA though?

I predict TNA will bring him in to get a boost for their new show.

I wouldn't doubt this happening. Unless he has a no compete clause in his contract.........

He hasn't been there in two weeks and they've been fine.

OR... they can say he was afraid of Big Show and high places.

Any marks that read WWE.com might cry themselves to sleep tonight, but they'll get over it. He hasn't been needed in two weeks and I don't seem him being needed much in the future. It just means that Creative needs to find a new person to squash mid-card heels in 30 seconds

Well, if his contract just expired, how could he have a no compete clause? Secondly, I serious doubt that NWA:TNA could afford Austin. Besides, he probably left because he can't wrestle anymore, so he might not want to go to NWA:TNA anyway.

Not that I mind too much that he's gone, but how will they explain his absence on television?

They probably won't bother. He hasn't been on tv in two weeks and no one's made a peep about his whereabouts. They're just going to go on as if he never existed.

Oh, for whatever reason my computer wouldn't load the graphic on the first try, and I didn't see it on the "Headlines" section.

Hard to believe he's GONE again. I don't see how he can come back unless he gets paid per apperance. And I don't see him ever wrestling again.

Shane McMahon. He can take on anybody. He's superman you know.

Good point. I doubt they'll have Bischoff brag about firing him, because then the marks will think its a work and expect Austin to show up that night.

This strikes me as funny...

Now ALL THREE people involved in Wrestlemania XX's match from hell are gone.

I'm glad he's gone, since his personal problems ran the risk of making the entire industry look bad.

BOO!

Austin may not have much use anymore but I'd still rather have him on my tv than half the current roster COUGHbradshawCOUGH.

With everything Austin has done for Vince you'd think they could have worked things out.

And Austin will NEVER work for TNA because of his hatred for Jarrett.

Two weeks?

Austin hasn't had a use since........wait.......hold on a minute.

*Thinks about it*

Christ, this is hard. Gimme a sec.

*Thinks some more*

Hold on, I know I can find something.

*Thinks reallly really hard*

That was a really good match he had with Benoit back in 2001.

Sorry. That's all I got.

The only real problem I have with him leaving is I was anticipating him getting a Ric Flair style DVD. Other than that, he didn't wrestle, so he really wasn't doing anything except popping the crowd and getting in the way of new people.

I like Austin. I'll always like Austin. He helped the business out in a monumental way, but unfortunately his injuries caught up to him, and it was time to hang up the boots. Hopefully he won't return in the near future in another non-wrestling role. I know this absence is all due to contract disputes, but maybe he'll contemplate retirement now. It would probably be the best thing for him. He has money, I'm sure. He can sit back and relax and enjoy the rest of his life.

Exactly though...he popped the crowd.

They make their money from the crowds. they should have used him like they are the UT, as a special treat for their shows.

They don't need too though. WWE doesn't need Steve Austin. Yes, he made them a lot of money. Yes, he probably still does and still could in the future. That's exactly what WWE has to worry about however....the future.

You can't keep someone on the payroll, especially someone who makes as much as "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, and have them in a non-wrestling role. If Austin was willing to take a pay cut and come back as a commentator, then hey, I'm all for it. If he wants to come back so he can just randomly "Stun" people on Raw for no reason and then drink beer in the middle of the ring so that the wrestlers whom have to actually wrestle after his bullshit can slip and get hurt, then let his ass sit at home.

There have been a lot of people that could pop the crowd and make money that have left. Look at The Rock. Look at Hulk Hogan.

I don't really see that as his fault though. Sure he got some control over his character but not enough to say "Hey I want to kill so and so's heat"
