Donnie didn't get pissed. Even when he got pissed, my Donnie blinders blocked it.

Oh, I know how things work. I just don't give a shit. All I care is that the World Series didn't get played. I hate the owners too, but you seem to excuse everything that the MLBPA does. Who are you? Donald Fehr?

I excuse them because about 90% of the time, they are right.

To me choosing between the MLBPA and the owners is like choosing between Hitler and Stalin.

Well, the newest debate in Yankee-land is whether or not to pitch Javy on three days rest against Pedro or use that crappy guy that started Tuesday.

I'd go with Javy. I don't care what month it is, in a division that will probably end with a very close first and second, you can't just constantly hand games to the other team.

Moose needs some kind of help, be it mental or physical.

Why? What's happening tonight?

At least Toronto is helping you guys out. Chris Gomez just hit his first career Grand Slam off Schilling to put the Jays up 7-3 in the 8th.

YANKEES SUCK!

THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES SUCK!

This team fucking refuses to win three in a row and/or go two over .500.

They're the suckiest +.500 team around I guess...

I'm waiting for the headlines:

"STEINBRENNER THROWS IN TOWEL! 'SCREW THIS! WE'RE ONLY ABOVE .500 AND IT'S ALMOST MAY? WE HAVE NO CHANCE NOW! Vows to 'liquidate' team and replace rosters with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. AngleSault over heard saying 'Finally, somebody is doing something!' "

Yup, I guess steroids are no worse than smoking. I guess that revenue-sharing --- which will only boost attendance as crap teams will have some money to keep their talent --- will suck because, well, a bunch of Yankees might drop a few bucks.

Unions are seldom beneficial to society.

The MLBPA is less beneficial than most unions.

Heck, if not for the umpires' union before the laughable "walk-out", I would be hard-pressed to name a more asinine union than the MLBPA.

The NHL's player union.

Ya got me on that one. They are blithering idiots.

We didn't have ANY revenue sharing until after the 1994 strike. Then a revenue sharing plan fell into place, and THEN the Yankees started winning and spending. Revenue sharing was an absolute failure because teams, notably the Twins, Expos and Brewers, realized they no longer had to place a winning product on the field in order to make money. The Brewers currently spend LESS on payroll than they receive in revenue sharing. If they aren't spending the money they get NOW, why should they get any more?

I've never understood why fans and analysts (George Will comes to mind) who are entirely conservative start picking up socialist ideals when it comes to sports.

I'm not an expect on Unions, so I'm not getting into that argument. But how exactly is the MLBPA hurting baseball, and fans in general? The Yankees' outspend everyone? I don't see the rings.

The MLBPA is the most successful union in the country. I'd hardly call them asinine.

The above .500 record that sneakily hides itself as a .500 record (8-8) with maybe 5 quality games played.

Honestly, accept for the Javy, Brown and the bullpen quad, and Hideki and Jorge on the offense side, I think I'd spit in the face of any Yankee I see.

Sheffield and Giambi have high OBPs.

At this point, I don't give a shit. We're paying this team to hit the fuck out of the ball, not this walk-error-ground out-single for one run crap we've been getting.

Why don't the Yankees give Donovan Osbourne a start?

When?

Dude, OBP is the entire point of the game. It means you're not collecting outs, but getting on base, which leads to runs, and hopefully big innings.

When?

Perhaps the next time Alex Graman looks like a viable option.

Oh, all those big innings we've had.

Giambi can get walks and little singles all fucking year for all I care. When the next fucking jackass comes up and GIDP, it means SHIT. Jason's gotta start beating the shit out of that ball.

You know what, I'm just seeing red right now.

I know I can't blame those guys for the team around them, and that they are at least contributing something. I wish they'd contribute more, but it's better than most of the team.

I'd take Triple-A Jose out of the starting rotation and put in Osbourne.

Yanks do need some kind of left-handed arm out there in the starting rotation, just to keep the opposition off-balance.

And if Mussina continues to struggle, swap him and Brown until Brown gets hurt.

Mussina had a decent enough game Thursday. Besides, there isn't an overwhelming difference between number one pitcher and number two, especially once the year gets rolling.

I'm actually starting to feel really bad for Jose. You can tell that he's trying to prove his worth, but he's like a deer in headlights when someone gets on base.

Yankees humiliate themselves AGAIN. 8-10, with maybe five quality games all year.

I demand the name of this thread be changed to "The OAO AngleSault Cries Into His Big Pillow Thread"

I think the current thread title is perfect.
