You'd have to ask Zack Malibu, Chris, because he's the only one who's had any type of regular contact with him.

I want Dames to come back too. He'll be getting what's been the better show the past few weeks, but I need a week off, dammit!

You totally overrated the first match. It was just a random collection of moves that barely built to anything. It wasn't a _bad_ match, but ****'s? No way. No real story, little psychology.

Um...does the story of "I hate you so I'm going to try to beat you" not count as a story anymore? That's what I got coming out of that match, and it was damn entertaining on top of it.

What did they do to reflect that hatred? No colour, no anger or frustration in either man, no "going over the edge". There was nothing "there" other than "Trish keeps on interfering" - that's not worth ****, and if it is to you, you better be grading on a 10 star system.

Rudo, I've become convinced that unless it's Chris Benoit vs. Eddy Guerrero, you'll never agree with any match I rate higher than **1/2.

What did they do to reflect that hatred? Certainly more than I ever got out of Angle-Lesnar at the height of their feud. They weren't trying to have a wrestling match. They were trying to do what they had to do to win the match. I'd be willing to accept in retrospect that there probably should have been more brawling, but then we'd be bitching that there was too much brawling and those two are capable of so much more.

It probably was a bit of a spotfest, but you make it seem as if it doesn't matter how entertaining a match is because spotfests can't be above a certain rating.

Let me put it to you this way. The handicap match probably told a more appropriate story for the feud and was entertaining, but I probably wouldn't rate that above *** (and even that's pushing it). This might not have told the right story for the feud, but I thought it was the better match overall.

Maybe I was just surprised they actually gave it 15 minutes.

I soooo did not like Benoit/Guerrero from Vengeance 03 because it suffered from the same problem this did. And Angle/Lesnar at least had Lesnar, as special guest ref, kill Angle in the cage... and I don't think very highly of that feud either. You gave the match **** and called it a "simply awesome opener", and there was very little substance in it to justify those two things. It was fluff.

Personally, not to gang up on good old JHawk or anything but I'd give it 2 and a half stars. It was a solid enjoyable match. Thanks for the review BTW.

If anything, Christian and Jericho, in order to have that **** match that this wasn't needs to eliminate Trish from the equation.

Which Is why I desire the final blowoff to be an old school bloody cage match.

Goddamn Edge, seel the arm. You've got a cast on for Christ's sake. It's a visual aid.

Although I will profess my love for those Blue Steel Bars...

I meant the traditional Mesh Cage...and get rid of the WWEIZED top...I want the NWA style loosely connected cages back.

I talked to Dames a few times last week and he told me that he;'s still several weeks from coming back.

Good read Jhawk though I'd knock a star off the Jericho Vs. Christian match and a 3/4 to the tag match.

I agree with you on Orton's promo though, I thought it was very well done.

You know I got a funny story about one of those cages. I helped out a promotion out in WA state called the ICW, in Oct through Dec. I was going to train while I was there but due to job issues, I couldn't train. I didn't wanna pay for training while I wasn't working. Well anyways, in November, ICW had a show that was all steel cages. And the way they were anchored down and the fences were connected were by chains. Myself and a few others had 3 chains in each corner. One on the top parts, middle parts, and bottoms parts of each cage, connecting to cages. Well the match before the main event was a tag match. One of the guys, I think it was Sonny O'mara was thrown into the cage and he bounced off the cage, as soon as he hit the cage, the whole cage moved about 3 inches, and one corner actually plopped off the ring, plopped off the ring, PLOPPED OFF THE FUCKING RING! The whole crowd stood up and a holy shit chant quietly squeaked it way out, this crowd was chanting crap all night long. So after all of us (the guys who were working), just looked at it at awe, about 10 of our guys, not me due to the fact that i'm a skinny guy who isn't all that strong, jumped the hockey net guardrail and lefted that corner back on the ring and actually slid it back into its nessled corner, then threw a long chain around the post and through the cage and locked screwed a bolt through the chain connecting that son of a bitch, then it was fine the rest of the night. Even through it was pretty weird and funny to see, I was seriously worried because if something like that happen and the cage decided to drop even further, it wouldn't have been most likely a pretty site, the even weirder part was those fans near that part of the cage, didn't even back up or anything. They just stood there with the "What the hell" look on their face.

I'm going to have to agree with Rudo about the Jericho-Christian match. Christian still hasn't learned how to carry a match on offense effectively and at this point never, ever will. There are simply only so many chokes and chinlocks you can do with seemingly little to no actual anger behind them. Just shouting how much he hates Jericho doesn't matter if Christian doesn't bother to show us just how pissed he is.

He's Jeff Jarrett without the highspots.

Maybe when I rewatch the match later in the week I'll agree with the rest of the sentiment here about Jericho-Christian. I just find it interesting that every match I've rated *** or better on Raw since Dames left has been immediately disputed by Rudo.

Nothing wrong with that, Rudo, but it's something you notice after a while.
