Speculation on Charlie Haas & Mystery Partner..

Recommended Posts

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes

For those of us who read the Smackdown Spoilers, we can look foward to some *great* segments from Charlie Haas and Rico, now that they are the Tag Champions :( But now that they are a team, what should their team name be? And how about backstage segments? Lets be creative.

To get the ball rolling, I'll be uncreative.

1.) Two Dudes in High Heeled Shoes. Rolls right off the tongue doesn't it?

2.) The (Self-Proclaimed) Worlds Gayest Tag Team. Have Charlie Haas dress up like Rico and it's money in the bank.

As for backstage segments, maybe they can have chaos with bag switches, as Haas is looking for his ring attire, he rummages through Ricos bag of thongs and throws up off screen. GOLD!

So Miss Jackie & Charlie Haas will be getting together? That's the way I see it all playing out. They work together like Booker T. & Goldust, an odd couple of sorts. Then the feud, and Jackie turns on Rico.

Great.

Remember when tag teams were considered greater than the sum of their parts, and you couldn't just stick any two singles wrestlers together and make a tag team? They needed to be actual tag teams and have tag team chemistry going, because a fairly experienced tag team (like it or not, at least Scotty/Rikishi qualify as that) should always beat a team of singles wrestlers who never have teamed up together in their life.

I hope it plays out like that too because when the WWE does a storyline that you also thought up, you enjoy it a little more.

Yes, I remember that fondly. It was tag team wrestling at it's finest. Of course, all the tag teams would fall to the power of main eventers. For example, Money Inc. would lose to two random single wrestlers if one or both of them were main eventers (like Hulk Hogan).

It was never down to what it should've been. Hulk Hogan should be able to beat D-Von Dudley in a singles match. Hulk Hogan should be able to be Bubba Ray Dudley in a singles match. The Ultimate Warrior should be able to beat D-Von in a singles match. The Ultimate Warrior should be able to beat Bubba Ray Dudley in a singles match. The Ultimate Warrior & Hulk Hogan should NOT be able to beat The Dudley Boyz. That's where Hogan & Warrior are "out of their element." D-Von & Bubba were "out of their element" in the singles matches. It just makes sense. Bubba & D-Von are used to being able to make a tag when they get in trouble whereas Hogan and Warrior wouldn't rely on their teammate as much as they should and they would find themselves outnumbered.

The experience and whatnot needs to be played up a lot more. Tag team manuevers should always be more "deadly" or "effective" than single moves. A "Powerplex" should be able to put someone out before a "Stone Cold Stunner" for example. That's just that way that I've always looked at it, but it never really played out that way on television.

"Hulk Hogan knows how to win when in that ring, Gorilla, but you have to believe that he's out of his element right now! He doesn't understand the tag team fundamentals. He doesn't realize how important it is to cut the ring in half and make quick tags to keep the fresh man in the ring at all times."

You could still do the "hot tags" and all that, but the non-tag team should always lose. When they make the "hot tag" why can't the experienced team roll out of the ring to regroup?

No idea. They instead just run right into the clotheslines and one usually gets dumped forcefully from the ring.

You covered just about all of the beefs I have with the tag team divisions right now. Often times you'll hear the "out of their element" talk when a main eventer is tag teaming against a real tag team, but it never means anything. Hell, sometimes a main eventer beats a tag team by himself.

The only tag team maneuver that is really built up to mean anything is the 3D, and that's a shame.

I don't mind if the main eventers are established as friends(Luger & Sting and The Megapowers) it's when teams like Rock & Chris Jericho or Undertaker & Rock win the titles.

...or the "Two Man Power Trip?"

If they aren't a real tag team, I have a problem with them...unless, of course, it's the Survivor Series. Hulk Hogan & The Ultimate Warrior together shouldn't be able to beat the fucking Killer Bees, let alone more established tag teams like The Road Warriors, Demolition, etc.

If you stick any team together right now, Triple H & Eddie Guerrero for example, or Triple H & Chris Benoit...they shouldn't be able to beat La Résistance or The Dudley Boyz. At least Triple H & Shawn Michaels teamed together in the past, so they would have a little cooperation amongst themselves as a team, or at least it should be played up that way through commentary. That's why Jesse Ventura was so good at Color Commentary. He would point shit like that out!

Me and RavishingRickRudo are a better team than the Killer Bees. We could beat them. We could do it nine times.

Second vote for "Ricohaas!". And this was the best they could think of for Charlie Haas? His former tag team partner is main-eventing Raw!

The only good about this angle is the hope that when Jackie turns on Rico it might make him snap and drop the Gay Character.

Amen.

No offense, but if guys have been in tag teams much of their career, I think randomly paired tag teams should work. Booker T has been in tag teams much of his career, I don't know about RVD.

In the same way, I'd expect Edge and Matt Hardy to be able to beat the Bashams or LaRes because not only do they know each other from their prior matches, they're supposed to know how a tag team match works having spent so much time that division.

I get what Coffey was saying about teams like the Megapowers, but you can't expect someone to completely forget how to work a tag match once they become singles stars.

RIC-oli...

If anybody remembers THOSE commericals, you get a cookie.

Anyways, I'm all for another tag team...and seeing as Haas is doomed to the Janetty syndrom, it's only obvious to keep him in a tag team situation. Rico is just there for our homophobe amusement.

I think the tag-team has a lot of potential. It's really the most "odd-couple" type tag team they've put together. They are perfect foils of one another. The potential storylines with Haas and Jackie falling in love or something, and Rico getting jealous, and eventually getting them in a feud with Rico being a non-gay Z-Man type everyday guys hero. Either that or a gay cop....GAY COP?!?!?!? YES!

OMG this is so dumb Chuck Haas can wrestle, Rico cant...

Its obvious you've never seen OVW.

Rico and Miss Jackie's kayfabe relationship is strictly professional. Think of her as today's Sunny.
