spman 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Well here it is, the Wrestlemania XX DVD. It comes in a hard covered casing and almost looks like a book. It's three discs, Disc one has the first half of the show, Disc 2 has the second half, and the first set of extras, and disc three is all extras. Now here comes the dissapointing part, the extras. Disc 2 is mostly just filler, Post Match comments, Confidential Pieces, stuff from Heat, the usual stuff you see on the DVDs. The third disc is comprised of three main parts The Mania of Wrestlemania show from UPN. The Ten Greatest Wrestlemania Matches show from TNN, and a reprint of the information on past Wrestlemanias taken directly from the Wrestlemania website. The Mania of Wrestlemania has three deleted scenes on it. The Ten Greatest Matches is exactly as broadcast on TNN, WWE didn't even bother to include the full matches or anything. The information on past Wrestlemanias is exactly the same stuff that could be found on the website, including Results, Pictures, Facts, and Trivia. Finally there is a brief trivia game which features ten moderatly difficult questions about Wrestlemania. Pictures will come soon, then I want to see if they dilluted the crowd at all on Lesnar vs Goldberg.

SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 The Ten Greatest Matches is exactly as broadcast on TNN, WWE didn't even bother to include the full matches or anything. That's so they could neatly include the inserted interview of Shawn taking all the credit.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Damn--I was hoping for the Ten Greatest Matches to be in there completely as extras. What about the Hall of Fame ceremony?
Jebus 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Sounds and looks good IMO... The event AND the network specials don't make for a disappointing DVD to me. Although, get back to us on the crowd reaction for Brock vs. Goldberg. The Hall of Fame has their own DVD coming up so for this one I guess we that highlight reel they showed a couple of times as an extra (or I think it was on the PPV itself)

Although, get back to us on the crowd reaction for Austin vs. Goldberg. I doubt the WWE cares if Goldberg or Brock look bad.

I'm pretty sure they're stretching that out and putting it on a seperate DVD. There's no mention of it on this disc.

Blah--there was talk of it being on there as part of the WMXX DVD, but if they aren't including it, what's going to make it worthy of a purchase on its own? Matches/segments from the vault? Okay, you don't know, just rambling.
spman 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Ok, the crowd during Lesnar vs Goldberg has been completely toned down. Lesnar's entrance has been changed to mild boos. Goldberg's entrance has been changed to mild cheer's and goldberg chants. You can still hear the You Sold Out chant, but other then that, you mostly just hear moderate crowd noise through the match, rahter the complete non stop boos to both guys. Slayer 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Did they dub out the other chants like "Boooo-ring" and "This match sucks!"? If so, the value of the DVD just dropped bigtime for me
spman 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Did they dub out the other chants like "Boooo-ring" and "This match sucks!"? If so, the value of the DVD just dropped bigtime for me Yep, those have been edited as best they can. They've either been cut or alterd so you can barely make out what the crowd is saying. You can hear the Goodbye song faintly, and You Sold Out. Other then that eveyrhting was changed to either generic crowd banter or goooooldberg
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Extremely lame. Why would they change it? Both guys are gone from the company now.
spman 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Also edited was Ultimo Draogns near Shockmaster-esque incident.
Guest Dazed Report post Posted April 24, 2004 That's a major disappointment. I'm surprised that they care enough about Goldberg or Lesnar to do that, although it does reflect badly on the company having one of their biggest stars treated like that. Is Jim Ross's comment about the NFL rumours still included?

If so, the value of the DVD just dropped bigtime for me I concur This is the reason I didn't get WM 18 (edited face reaction to Rock)...I just knew they were gonna do this! I already get pissed when they edit botches (and why did they edit Jericho flipping off a fan at WM 19...it was hilarious!) but this pisses me off something fierce. Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 24, 2004 The trivia game - corny or a nice addition? Well, WWE fucked up the DVD (except for the packaging - and I expected them to go all out with everything), just like they fucked up the event itself. I'll still buy it. Bruiser Chong 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Gay. That's the reason I wanted the DVD's. Fuck WWE. How deep. It is indeed very homosexual that they made those edits. Anyway, I'm actually pretty intrigued by the cover art and overall look of the package. One of the better looking ones they've done. But seeing as how I was bored to tears with the event, the extras sound like nothing but fluff that wasn't interesting the first go-around, the packaging would probably be the best part of it for me and there's no way I'm shelling out 20 bucks for a nice box. THe trivia gmae is a nice addition, the corny thing is that depenmding on your answer, you get a really corney response from a WWE superstar either commending you on your right answer, or making fun of you for getting it wrong. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 This is the reason I didn't get WM 18 (edited face reaction to Rock) I have the DVD and I saw the live show and don't remember this. It's the same as it always was. I suspect they knew that the crowd backlash pretty much became part of the angle and people would buy the disc for it. On the other hand, they figured it was embarassing to have Brock/Berg as they did. Kind of makes me wish I kept my earlier copy. Menu shots, plz.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Editing The Rock's crowd reaction at WrestleMania X8 would be stupid - it worked with the angle. And as for editing Brock/Goldberg - well, they can't take away the "match"'s one entertaining element, can they? Even if that element is what fucked everything up in the first place... Styles 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Is Jericho's botched butterfly superplex before Trish comes out edited out too? That's really disappointing news about the edited Brock/Goldberg match. The crowd reaction was a serious mark out moment and one of the most memorable Wrestlemania moments ever. Without that its just a boring, meandering match. I'll wait till my DVD comes though, becuse the people who say the Rock/Hogan reaction was edited are dead wrong, its totally the same, so who knows.
Jebus 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 About WM 18, all I heard was that while Hogan's enormous reaction was still there, the crowd now was kinda more receptive to the Rock (not booing his every move and "Rocky sucks" chants) to make it seem as if the crowd was torn. If it's not edited then forget what I wrote but I'm still angry at Lesnar vs. Goldberg.
Guest slacklet Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Gay. That's the reason I wanted the DVD's. Fuck WWE. How deep. It is indeed very homosexual that they made those edits. "Gay" can be used as a verb. And don't give me that "On the internet you are supposed to spell it G-H-E-Y!" crap.
spman 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2004 Ok, im going to sleep now, so I won;t be around to answer questions. If I find the time tomorrow, I'll record sounds bites from the DVD of the Lesnar vs Goldberg match so you guys can hear for yourselves.
