Clifford's initial focus will be to enlist cable operators and satellite services to distribute WWE 24/7, a subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) service that will feature highly-rated "classic" Pay-Per-View, cable and syndicated broadcast content, best-selling home videos, new original productions and proprietary broadband, from the WWE® and other acquired national and regional wrestling brands. WWE announced the new service on March 24. Clifford has extensive experience in Affiliate Sales at The Golf Channel (TGC), where he worked since 1996. Most recently at TGC, he was Managing Director, Affiliate Ad Sales and New Products, and responsible for the management of the channel's VOD product, including MSO contractual negotiations, partner promotion, programming and distribution strategies, advertising sales and performance tracking. Clifford started with TGC as Regional Vice President, Western Region where he was responsible for optimizing the network's market share and distribution throughout the Western half of the U.S. and Canada. Barreca noted, "Peter brings WWE 15 year's worth of working Industry expertise and several long, fruitful relationships among corporate decision-makers across cable and satellite alike. Prior to TGC, Clifford worked as a Senior Regional Manager for the Weather Channel, and started his affiliate sales career at E! Entertainment Television. Ahh... You mean like how Spike TV shows the same episodes of TNG and MXC all the time? The WWE has lost a lot of it's mainstream appeal. I wonder if it's worth it. Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 26, 2004 when the hell do they plan to actually LAUNCH the damn thing? They should have a ONE DAY FREE PASS ala Extra Innings with Baseball. Where the fans can test it out and see how the thing works...it's good P.R and appeals more people right away.
