Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 <------------------------------ass. I never saw that there before.
Sandman9000 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Even though you have yours listed as well. Wow.
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 No, I meant under his. I knew mine was there.
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 That's like telling you to stop smoking weed.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I'm going to put that Lemmycake picture in my sig soon so maybe the moderators will think better of him and maybe let him back. I mean c'mon a lot of people here liked this great guy.
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 He told me he doesn't want to come back and that CWM is an asshole.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I don't get why everyone was decrying Cakes as a fake in the first place. He was an obvious gimmick if everyone didn't fuss up in this thread he may still be here. :_(
Guest Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 He told me that he was just trying to introduce himself, not to be a gimmick.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 only you would converse with a gimmick poster. He's.fucking.with.your.head.
Guest The Colonel Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Right stop this, it's getting silly. Now, I've noticed a tendency for this thread to get rather silly. Now I'll do my best to keep things moving along, but I'm not having things getting silly. Those last few posts I read got very silly indeed, and that last one from the Kingofthe909 fellow was even sillier. Now, nobody likes a good laugh more than I do. Except perhaps my wife. And some of her friends. Oh yes, and Captain Banky... Come to think of it, most people like a good laugh more than I do, but that's beside the point! Now! Let's have a good clean healthy outdoor thread. Get some air into your fingers. Ten nine eight and all that.
Guest slacklet Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 No, I have no reason to make it up. Would you like to share something with us?
Giuseppe Zangara Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Let's have a good clean healthy outdoor thread. This amused me.
spiny norman Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Bah, there's only room for one Monty Python related poster here, even if I don't just post "DINSDALE!" all the time.
Guest Banders Kennany Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I still miss Lemmycake and am pleasantly surprised to see the Colonel isn't banned yet. Hopefully no mods come in here.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Lemmycake was godawful. no one with any taste could have liked him.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 For what it's worth, I would've banned Lemmycake, too. So quitcher bitchin'.
NYU Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 But could you explain just WHY these gimmick posters are being banned? Lemmycake and The Colonel had some aspects of humor to them and, let's face it, they aren't harming anybody. In fact, the two of them have been among the more intelligent new accounts since registration was reopened. Why are the humorous accounts on this board being immediately banned? As far as I can tell, having gimmick posters like Abobo and George Costanza weren't the downfall of this board, and they didn't look like they were going to be anytime soon. So why this sudden crackdown on gimmick posters when....a) They're not hurting anybody, not flaming anybody, not causing any huge board disruptions, not causing any problems whatsoever......b) Worse posters are being allowed to remain.
Guest Dids Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Because when they openned Reg they said "No gimmic posters".
NYU Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 That would be a good answer.....if it answered the original question. Why? Why absolutely no gimmick posters?
KingPK Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 From Dr. Tom's thread in Site Feedback: Don't register any gimmick accounts. Enough of the bloody things were deleted to last a lifetime. Your regular account is enough. Any gimmick accounts we see will be deleted, and I'll turn registrations off again if you lot can't keep your bad attempts at humor in your pants. There you go.
Guest slacklet Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 That would be a good answer.....if it answered the original question. Why? Why absolutely no gimmick posters? Questioning of the rules - OMG!
NYU Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 From Dr. Well, I understand that no-gimmick-accounts was part of Tom's rules when he opened up registration. I already KNOW that he wrote it out, and that was what he wanted. There's no argument to that. But again, my question is why this rule was created in the first place. I've never seen it as much of a danger in the first place, and it adds several aspects of humor to the forum. I don't see WHY they've been competely banished - I just know that they have been. It's certainly not a life-or-death issue, but I think it'd be nice to know why this rule was created.
justsoyouknow Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Because you create a gimmick account and it's left to roam free, then you get bored with it. It lies dormant, then you decide to create another gimmick account. You get bored with it, it lies dormant, then you decide to create another one. Before you know it, we have 3000 members again.
