Visnjic To Star As Male Lead In Elektra

 

The latest on yet another comic book movie....

 

Goran Visnjic (ER) has been cast as the male lead in Elektra. The Daredevil spinoff will of course star Jennifer Garner.

 

The movie will be based on the comics The Elektra Assassin and The Elektra Saga and feature her battling the clan of mystical ninjas known as the Hand. Elektra will be assigned to kill Visnjic's character but ends up falling for him romantically.

Goran Visnjic does not deserve to be the lead male of ANYTHING.

 

That made for TV Spartacus was bad enough.

Spartacus was/is pretty solid, but I don't totally like Visnjic, especially in a leading role.

She joins the cast as Typhoid Mary.

 

Just earlier this morning, Variety broke the news that "ER" star Goran Visjnic would be starring alongside Jennifer Garner in ELEKTRA. Hours later FilmForce has more exclusive casting news, this time of one of the film's villians. Stax writes in to say that the role of Typhoid Mary in the film will be played by actress/model Natassia Malthe. The 26-year-old beauty will play one of Kirigi's (the film's main villain) assassins. The character will likely be a departure from the comic character as they film Typhoid is described as "wearing a kimono and the porcelain white mask of an actress in a Noh play," while the comic Typhoid was more punk rock/prostitute. It also seems as if the split personality aspect of the character will be eshewed. The Typhoid character will likely be similar to the Bullseye character from DAREDEVIL - not the film's main villain but the workhorse one. Malthe's screen credits include DISTURBING BEHAVIOR and 40 DAYS AND 40 NIGHTS. Filming is scheduled to begin next month in Vancouver.

It was hinted that she survived at the end. Of course, it's NOT a hint now; she DID survive. Besides that, Elektra has died and come back in the comics, too. So it's not like that kind of thing will stop her.
