B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 You've got to be greasy quick to do that spanish style stuff. How many fingers do you have to be able to stroke the guitar with? How many you got? Things like this make me glad I learned bass instead... of course I don't really have suitable "guitar hands" What are guitar hands? Typically "guitar hands" involve long, narrow and quick fingers.
Slayer Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 What are guitar hands? Typically "guitar hands" involve long, narrow and quick fingers. Exactly I have short stubby fingers, which suck for playing guitar, but are ideal for bass
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 My fingers are like Smoky Links of pure muscle. They're stumpy and thick, but I can crack walnuts and hit false harmonics on my low E.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 1, 2004 Report Posted May 1, 2004 My fingers are wide and semi-long. Not perfect for guitar, but damn they've come in handy playing piano all these years.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted May 2, 2004 Report Posted May 2, 2004 Fuckin', we can do a bunch of Kiss and Allman Brothers Band covers..Squirtle will be our lead singer.

Ripper Posted May 5, 2004 Report Posted May 5, 2004 I personally can't bar a chord. I think it is humanly impossible with my fingers. But I am wicked fast once I learn something. That usually doesn't take long.

There's a right way to go about doing them which is harder than fuck on the bass, so here's what I do. It involves barely pressing the note I want, and I lightly mute with my right hand, then grab a hold of the note and make it squeal when I pick it. I know that's completely useless to you, but it's how I do it. It's more one of those things you just have to learn to do through trial and error. It's like driving a stick shift, you just need to find that point where you can do shit.
Guest pinnacleofallthingsmanly Posted May 13, 2004 Report Posted May 13, 2004 Well due to my biking accident, my left hand is pretty fucked up right now. So my guitar playing days are over for a little while.
B. Brian Brunzell Posted May 15, 2004 Report Posted May 15, 2004 Gaytime. Take up harmonica. Or the kazoo.
