Guest gearhead Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Ok I guess the title explains it all. Why does it seem that John Cena will get a Heavyweight title reign before Christian. I mean no knock on Cena I admire the guy and he has mad skills no doubt, but with that said he is not much better then Christian if he is even better at all. I mean Cena's mic skills are awsome but so are Christans the guy is hailrious as is Cena. I would also say that Christian has a slight edge in the in ring stuff. So with that said it doesnt make sense to me at all the Cena has already got one shot and seemingly as soon as Eddy loses the title will get another one when Christian who in my opinion is better has never recived his chance. What are your guys thoughts.
Brett Favre Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 John Cena is massively over. That's the bottom line.
Youth N Asia Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 As much as I like Christian, he'll never get the world title. He's too small. And you can make arguments for Eddie, Benoit, Jericho, and Michaels. But Christian's a step below all of them and even smaller.
Guest M. Harry Smilac Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Christian's only hope is for Edge to get the title and to have a feud with him based on their past.
Guest Goodear Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Christian is actually taller than all three of those guy. From WWE's webpage: Eddie 5'8" 220 Jericho 6' 231 Benoit 5'10'' 220 Christian 6'1" 210 Anyway, Christian isn't World Title material. He's too dull on offense, has a stereotypical heel gimmick and delivery, and isn't over enough to pull it off even with a body guard and Trish on the outside. Cena is somewhat unique in WWE land and is far more over as well as being so much younger that he could still improve in the future where as Christian is about as far as he is going to get by now.
Guest duck420 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 i think if they let him christian would be the most over heel champ because he is so small.

Uh, dude, Christian is taller than both Jericho & Benoit and is the same height has Michaels... I don't know if you're talking about height, or weight.. but even then, he's definitely not 215lbs anymore..
Lil' Bitch Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Besides, marks won't take Christian seriously because his character is a little bitch.
Guest duck420 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 (edited) The thing I love about Cena is that he is a better rapper than wrestler (not that he's a bad wrestler) hip hop is HUGE right now and Cena fits right into that groove perfectly. plus he has Esoteric on his upcoming album. Edited April 29, 2004 by Goodear
Guest Choken One Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 So was Honky Tonk Man...He made great money for WWF in 1988. Christian is fine for a heel foil to Benoit but not as a champion at least not right now. I don't see Cena getting the title soon since he's stuck in his lame face character right now...either he will have to turn again or Eddy will...
Youth N Asia Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I didn't mean height. All the guys listed there have 10+ lbs on him. And based on their shorter frame look bulkier.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I'd give Christian a run because Cena has just totally been on cruise control since November.
Downhome Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 As of right now, Christian is not in any way world title contender material. But, if they were to tweak his character just a bit, I still feel that he could just explode and become a player. I've felt that way about the guy for years. Hell, I'd have more faith in him being in a ME slot than Edge.
Guest Goodear Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I'd give Christian a run because Cena has just totally been on cruise control since November. Cena's also working through some injuries with his hand and knee as far as I know which is probably why he's booked in so many squashes lately.

Guest Choken One Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I think WWE has set raw up so perfectly that by making Christian the #1 contender...you really don't hurt anyone. You can build up an entire show and company instead of just putting the #1 heel against the #1 face... have the #1 face vs #4 heel and #2 face vs #3 heel and #3 face vs #1 heel... Just for clairification... The Face/Heel Rankings are Face: Benoit, Shawn (for now), Edge, Jericho, Benjamin Heel: Trips, Orton, Batistia, Flair, Christian, Kane and they can set up any set of matches with those 11 guys in the upper card and be set for a long time.. Sadly Smackdown hasn't gotten that effort put into...thus I could see Cena, by virtue of being one of the 3-5 meaningful and over draws on SMD left getting a title run.
King Cucaracha Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 If Christian gets himself a new offensive style then he could very well be a big star. The Jericho feud has helped his crowd reactions, as has Trish being in his corner. Plus he plays the cocky heel brilliantly. But still, Cena should be a World Champ before XTain...considering he's the most over wrestler on Smackdown and all.
Guest Choken One Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Putting a title on someone for the sake of putting it on someone because they are really over isn't the best thing to do, Remember Hogan 2002? At this point, Cena should SNIFF the WWE title until the fall at the earliest. Not because he still needs to learn how to work but because it would make it more meaningful.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 But still, Cena should be a World Champ before XTain...considering he's the most over wrestler on Smackdown and all. The only real problem with Cena's act is that it's so dependant on fads and trends. In a year, the masses could see the act for what it is (stupidity) and John would be sunk. They'd need to strike like right now.
Guest duck420 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 they need to release cenas album and see how it sells. if its HOT(and would be if they invested money in good producers) put the title on him. if the album flops turn cena heel and have him talk about how hes done with hip hop cuz they didnt buy his shit and he needs to concentrate on wrestling now which is what pays him. instead of john cena he can become johnny c-note
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 well not everyone gets the belt their first or second try at it. Christian might just be World title attempt material. Like "test" runs they throw Christian and his two weapons of distraction at the Champ but still lose... then give it time have the WWE think tank (boy the water must be getting shallow and brackesh by now) to come up ways of building Christian up for a later World title challenge and eventual win.
Lord of The Curry Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 I could see Cena getting a title run soon. That's supposing that his match against Dupree won't brutally expose him. Which it will.
cynicalprofit Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 John Cena is massively over. That's the bottom line. Gold star for you. Christain drew as a tag, not in a singles role. Well not enough yet to warrant a title push. Maybe he'll come around though.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 Where did Christian's name come from? Did you draw it from a hat? Oh and Christian will feud with Tyson TomKo when he turns face in 6 months.
Guest Mulatto Heat Posted April 29, 2004 Report Posted April 29, 2004 they need to release cenas album and see how it sells. Speaking of, any updates on that? I thought it'd be out by now, he's been talking about it for months. Cena's DVD didn't break any records despite some people's predictions. I guess 'Sault was right, you can't put out a DVD with not much substance on it.
