This is the thread for minor news stories of the day. Things that don't deserve a full thread, but still warrant mention on the board. The thread will be pinned for today, and then replaced with another one tomorrow. Please note that this is a trial, and after tomorrow, the status of the daily threads will be discussed. If you have any ideas regarding the thread, then PM me, and I'll start a discussion thread on Monday.

On with the news that sucks...

- Smackdown did a 3.9 overnight rating this week, up from a 3.6 last week. The final number will be available later today.

- The Rock had a joke played on him for the upcoming new season of MTV's Punk'd. The joke apparently has to do with the Rock being blamed for blowing up a trailer on the set of one of his movies.

Same as last week...

WWE Smackdown finished with a 3.1 rating this week, same as last week. The 9-9:15 quarter hour produced the highest rating, a 3.3.

This was reported in the Calgary Sun:

"TURNING JAPANESE: Former Japanese rugby star Kenzo Suzuki will be making his WWE debut on the May 10 edition of Raw in San Jose.

Billed as Hirohito, a Japanese patriot out to get revenge for America's actions in the Second World War (because it's not like WWE saddles foreigners with tacky stereotypical gimmicks or anything), Suzuki will make his TV debut at the live show, seconded by a North American 'bodyguard' character."

Even though last night's Raw brand house show was being marketed as taking place in Amarillo, TX, it was actually held in Canyon, TX.

The Sunday evening show in San Angelo, TX was cancelled.

WWE is running the El Paso show that was originally scheduled for today tomorrow instead.

There were a couple of edits to RAW in the UK this week one understandable, one not. The spot where Jerry Lawler plugged the Divas magazine was cut due to the Ofcom ruling about product placement and advertising within entertainment shows. Instead we cut straight to Stacy Keibler's entrance. The other edit, was the Kane/Lita kiss. This was shown from the hard camera angle and not in close up, as the scene was shown in the US, so the shot of Kane's back was blocking the view. You read that right: WWE EDITED THE SHOT OF A MAN KISSING A WOMAN!!! Like we've never seen a kiss on UK TV before.

In the June addition (#152) of Wizard Magazine, they have a short interview with Rob Van Dam. They discuss his writing his comic book, and his comic store.

God that sounds so stupid.

Early prediction: Hirohito, with his wrestling skills and horrible gimmick combined, will win the 2004 Gooker award at wrestlecrap.com.

I didn't catch Raw until today, but I saw SmackDown when it aired Saturday and they showed the kiss up close in the Raw Rebound, and probably will in the U.S. Bottom Line show version that airs Tuesday, which I think Marc Loyd still hosts?

new guy Todd (don't call me Pettengill) Grisham hosts the UK edited version
